Hi coffee friends ♥️
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here. Social media has felt a little strange and heavy lately. But I’m still here, still roasting delicious coffee, and still so grateful for everyone who’s a part of this little community.
The world has been pretty fu***ng wild. It’s strange trying to hold space for everything that’s happening and then pivot to, “Hey, wanna buy some coffee?”
What hasn’t changed is how much I love this community. From the very start, coffee has been about connection for me and I’ve been lucky to find that in so many ways through this business.
No big announcements here, just wanted to say hi and let you know I’m around. I’ll keep showing up, staying active locally, uplifting voices that matter, speaking out when it counts and I’ll keep roasting coffee.
The photo here is one I thought I’d lost of me and my grandpa Henry, the inspiration behind all of this. Aren’t we cute? 😉

While I don’t have a brick and mortar business to close for tomorrow- I will be participating in this strike in all the ways I can! I’ve been sharing in my stories ways people can help and join people in protecting our communities.
I’m having a hard time with my words lately in saying how I feel but it boils down to this:

Free Palestine
Free Sudan
Free Congo
All of these are connected.

August’s Rooted in Community Donation: .w.i.r.p ✨

NorthwNorthwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) was founded in response to the urgent need for legal support for Central American refugees fleeing civil war violence. Facing deportation without legal representation, many found refuge in Seattle churches through the Sanctuary Movement. A dedicated group of advocates mobilized volunteer attorneys to fight for their asylum. As immigration laws evolved, NWIRP expanded its mission to provide legal aid to immigrants and refugees worldwide, ensuring access to justice and protection.

JCR is proud to contribute to and support this incredible organization this month.

Meet Luzma! I feel so lucky to have met Luzma who is the producer of the Santa Elena Costa Rica coffee. It was so lovely to chat with her and learn about her farm and the story behind her coffee.

She’ll be joining me today at the around 3pm! Come by and say hi. It’s a rare treat to have a producer here in person and I’m so excited for you all to meet her!
