Ya’ll… the feedback I’m getting from today’s Summit Stronger newsletter is already powerful and painful. 😭. If you haven’t yet, please read this…it matters.

These quote cards are a reflection of what so many of us know but don’t say out loud.

Personally? I was always labeled “cold” or “intimidating.” My muscular body invited commentary instead of respect, and I leaned into that persona as protection, and even that didn’t stop harm. I was harmed by the need to hide, to mask, to not be seen.

We deserve outdoor and active spaces where people don’t have to armor up just to exist safely.

Most people quit because they think they’re “bad at consistency.”

They’re not.
They just keep trying to do hard things in hard ways… forever.

If your habits only work when motivation is high, caffeine is flowing, and life is calm, that’s not a you problem. That’s a systems problem!

Tiny shifts make a massive difference:
Put the thing where you’ll see it.
Make it enjoyable enough that you don’t dread it.
Lower the bar so you actually start.
Give yourself a little dopamine when you follow through.

That’s not laziness. That’s working with your brain instead of against it.

If you want more simple, human-centered ways to make habits stick (without turning your life into a bootcamp, unless you actually want it to be), I share them regularly inside the Summit Stronger newsletter.

Snowy miles, quiet trees, and good company.
Mixed terrain up to Chickadee Ridge with one of my favorite humans (and one very fast dog, even in booties 😉). ❄️🤍

We don’t have just a mental health problem or just a physical health problem in mountain towns…
we have a whole-person problem.

Therapy is essential.
Movement is essential.
Community is essential.
Purpose is essential.

But when we treat them like separate islands, people fall straight through the gaps.

This morning’s Summit Stronger newsletter breaks down the science behind whole-person health, and why our current systems miss the mark for real mountain town humans.

🗻 Read it here: https://summit-stronger.kit.com/

If you watch this and think, “YES, this is exactly what I’ve been feeling,” you’re not alone. This is the future of wellness in resort communities, and we’re just getting started.

I used to think “having a plan” meant I was officially no fun anymore. Spreadsheets. Calendars. Routines.
Absolutely not, I’m a free spirit… who also forgot meals, skipped workouts, and lived in constant chaos. 😅

Plot twist: the more structure I added, the more freedom I actually got. Freedom to hike, play, lift, rest, and not spend all day wondering, “Wait… what was I supposed to be doing for myself again?”

If you’re allergic to planning but secretly exhausted from winging it, this one’s for you.

The Summit Stronger newsletter is BACK ON TRACK 🙌
It drops on its regular day, Tuesday (aka tomorrow!)
and this week I’m diving into some deep health thoughts you won’t want to miss.

I used to think grit was the whole game. Just push harder. Do more. Power through like a feral raccoon with a goal. 🦝💥

And listen… grit is great.
It’ll get you started. It’ll get you through some tough moments. But it will also burn you straight into the ground if it’s the only tool in your toolbox.

The real magic?
A growth mindset.
Being willing to learn.
Being willing to adapt.
Being willing to get support instead of trying to lone-wolf your way through every challenge.

Grit lights the spark. Growth keeps the fire going. 🔥

If this hits, my newsletter drops tomorrow, and I’m going deeper into the realities of grit, how it helps, how it hurts, and how to use it without losing your mind.
You’ll want to read this one.

✨ Join the list (link in bio!) and it’ll land in your inbox first.

Wow… sometimes you don’t realize how much you’re holding until you say it out loud.

There are some big shifts happening in my world right now, and we’re being really intentional as a family about grounding in what matters most while things evolve. Add in the holidays, the pace, the emotions, the expectations, and it’s a lot for anyone to carry.

And if you work in health and fitness, or the resort or service industry, this season ramps up fast. It’s so easy to pour into everyone else and forget that you also need support, structure, and space to breathe.

What I’m leaning into right now is this:
When life feels full, that’s the moment to stay connected to yourself, not drift further away.

No giant reset required.
No “new year, new me” energy needed.
Just one small choice that keeps you anchored.
One habit that reminds you that your well-being matters too.

If this season feels heavy, you’re not alone.

Take a breath.

Pick one thing that supports your energy.

And give yourself credit, you’re carrying more than most people can see. 💛

My health journey did start with weight loss…
but not the fun, empowering, “I love myself” kind.

More like:
➡️ “Punish yourself smaller.”
➡️ “Shrink to be worthy.”
➡️ “Try this new macro plan/booty blaster/waist-sculpting detox tea.”

You know… the usual BS. 💩🙃

And surprise, surprise, none of it stuck.

Because you can’t shame yourself into a healthy life.
You can’t “booty blast” your way out of a behavior cycle.
And no waist trainer has ever healed a single mindset wound.

The real transformation didn’t happen until I stopped falling for the noise, and started learning how behavior, identity, support, and self-awareness actually work.

THAT’S when things changed for good.
Not quick.
Not flashy.
But finally, sustainable.

If you’re ready to get off the gimmick carousel, I’ve got free resources that actually help you build habits that last.

I still have days when I catch my reflection and start to pick myself apart. It’s an old habit, one that showed up long before I ever learned to love movement for me.

But when that voice creeps in, I try to pause and remember:

This body has carried me through every version of my life.

It’s lifted weight I never thought I could lift, physically and emotionally.

It’s danced, trekked up mountains, taught classes, held my son, hugged my people, and gotten me back up after loss.

It’s breathed through stress, through joy, through grief, through growth.

It let me create, play, teach, climb, lift, stretch, laugh, and live a life I’m proud of.

And even of I don’t love how it looks all the time, it still shows up for me.

Having insecurities is human. But sometimes those insecurities make us forget what a miracle it is just to be alive, moving, feeling, experiencing, evolving.

So today, I’m choosing gratitude over criticism.

Not because my body is perfect…
but because it’s mine, and it’s done so much for me. ❤️

Meet Coach Christine

I grew up playing competitive softball, and that is where my coaching journey began, coaching other girls in softball specific skills as well as on travel teams. Otherwise I gravitated towards solo alternative sports like skateboarding and snowboarding. Moving to Boston to attend college I captained the UMASS softball team as a catcher for four years as well as played volleyball. After graduating college with a Bachelor's degree in Art and English, I headed to New Hampshire with my husband, where I was camp director and head coach of a summer skateboard camp for several years. In search of a snowier lifestyle we moved to Lake Tahoe.

I always have had a profound love of animals and I worked as a veterinary technician for 8 years, where I furthered my innate passion for science and medicine. Going back to school to complete my prerequisites to apply to Veterinary school I had an epiphany after taking an exercise science class one quarter on a whim. THIS is was my true passion! I changed direction at school and completed my personal training certification from Lake Tahoe Community College where I also studied nutrition, kinesiology, exercise prescription, injury prevention, stress reduction and meditation, and more. I took every health, fitness and wellness class I could fit in my schedule and participated in a training internship at the college fitness center. After completing school I went on to become a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine, and earn certification in Aqua Barre, TRX training, and Progressive Calisthenics. I consider myself a lifelong student, and am dedicated to ever expanding my knowledge and practice in health and fitness. I am currently studying for my Level 1 Precision Nutrition Certification, and this year I plan on earning my SCW Functional Exercise Certification as well as my XPT (Performance Coaching) Certification.

Over the years after graduating I worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor in several facilities, then in 2014 I became a Mom, and opened my own personal training and small group fitness facility. In 2018 I partnered my training center with a circus arts studio, and we now co-habitate a lovely performance and training space together. I love a new challenge and will try any type of movement from acro-yoga to trail running, I compete in obstacle course racing, and play on a WFTDA ranked Roller-derby team, which I founded in 2013, I love roller skating! Now I spend my days training, and working with my in person and LadyBoss clients from my facility or spending time with my family playing around Lake Tahoe from the snow covered slopes in the winter to the beach in the summer.

My motto is “Grit and determination", as nothing I have came easy, nor was I ever just “good" at anything when I started out. I’ve worked hard for everything I have achieved, and I want to share that passion and drive with you! I hope to inspire the joy of movement in all people in order to live their best lives! I can't wait to get to know and work with you!
