As October closes, we stand in the space between harvest and hibernation—a threshold season. This is a time when nature asks us to gather what we’ve grown, release what no longer serves, and prepare for deeper rest ahead. In holistic practice, this isn’t just about food or routines—it’s about honoring the cycles of expansion and contraction within us. Just as the trees shed leaves, we’re invited to let go of habits, patterns, or even energies that weigh us down.

Ask yourself: What am I ready to release before stepping into November’s stillness? Light a candle, sip something warm, and allow your body to remind you of its own wisdom.

My dharma revealed itself in the most unexpected way.

Dharma is not just a calling… it’s the work your soul contracts to do in this lifetime, the path that insists you show up even when it’s hard. For me, it showed up when my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. There was no choice, only showing up fully… with presence, focus, and gratitude—supporting her through treatment while continuing the work I had built at the Wellness Center.

That experience taught me that dharma often arrives disguised as challenge. It’s in those moments of fear, uncertainty, and total responsibility that we discover our capacity to serve, to hold space, and to embody our gifts fully. Today, my mom is cancer-free, and I continue to support people around the world–online, through customized wellness programs, integrative holistic education, and healing retreat. Through everything I’ve experienced I now have such important information to share with the world and this is why I am writing a book to support individuals who are newly diagnosed with cancer … because this is my calling.

True dharma asks you to step into your life fully, to trust your instincts, and to persist even when the path isn’t easy. It reminds us that our challenges are not obstacles… they are the soil in which our purpose grows.

This is what I talk about in my latest blog, and I would truly appreciate it if you could take the time to read it—it comes straight from the heart. The full post is linked in the comments.

A cancer diagnosis can feel like the ground shifts beneath you—suddenly, everything is urgent, overwhelming, and isolating. I’ve been there with my mom, and I know how heavy it can feel when every choice seems life-changing. Over time, I realized how helpful it could be to have a guide that helps you pause, breathe, and explore supportive paths that honor your body, mind, and spirit.

The book I’m writing is a compassionate resource filled with practical tools, holistic insights, and real-life stories to help both patients and caregivers navigate this journey with clarity and hope. This is about empowerment, not pressure—about showing up fully for yourself and your loved ones, even in the midst of uncertainty.

If you’re ready to take a mindful step forward, the waitlist is open so you get notified first when the book is available for pre-order. You can move through this with intention, presence, and heart.

The Fall Equinox marks a natural moment of balance—day and night are equal, and the world begins its inward shift. For our bodies, this transition can subtly affect energy flow: chi, or prana, may feel slower, circulation can dip, and the lungs are more sensitive to dryness and seasonal change. These shifts often show up as fatigue, low immunity, or seasonal sensitivities.

Support your energy with warmth, nourishing foods, gentle movement, and mindful breathing. Take a moment today to honor the equinox—release what no longer serves you, welcome the season’s rhythm, and celebrate the balance within and around you. Step into autumn with clarity, resilience, and renewed energy.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside clients and loved ones as they face a cancer diagnosis. I’ve seen the fear, the uncertainty, and the weight that comes not just from the illness itself, but from the countless decisions, opinions, and emotions that arrive with it. I’ve also witnessed incredible resilience—the quiet courage, thoughtful decision-making, and moments of clarity that emerge even in the most challenging times.

This book is born from those experiences. It’s a companion designed to empower and inform, offering guidance and practical insights to help anyone navigating a cancer diagnosis—whether for themselves or someone they love. It provides tools to understand options, weigh decisions, and approach each step with greater clarity and confidence.

My hope is that these pages serve as a resource to help readers feel informed, empowered, and more in control of their journey—so that even amidst uncertainty, they can make choices aligned with their values, needs, and well-being.

This fall, these pages will be ready to serve as a thoughtful resource for yourself or someone you love. Join the waitlist to secure your copy and let it accompany you or someone you care for. Comment or DM "WAITLIST" and we'll set you up.

As a practitioner, one thing I’ve noticed over the years is how quietly summer can take a toll on the body. It’s not always obvious. Sometimes it’s just a bit of fatigue, some bloating, brain fog, restless nights, or mood swings. Other times, it’s subtler: sluggish digestion, puffy eyes, or little flare-ups of allergies. Most of the time, these are the body’s way of signaling that the liver, kidneys, gut, and other detox organs have been working overtime—processing all the extra stressors we’ve absorbed from heat, smoke, pool chemicals, pesticides, and less-than-perfect air quality.

One way to gently support your body through this seasonal shift is to give it structured help in processing those accumulated toxins. Something like a WEI 14 or 28-day detox program can provide a framework to support the liver, kidneys, digestive tract, and even systems like lymph, blood, and reproductive health. The 14-day approach is a lighter reset, a way to nudge your body back into balance. The 28-day program can go deeper, helping multiple systems work more efficiently and giving your body the space to restore itself naturally.

I always remind people (and myself) that detoxing isn’t about restriction or extreme measures. It’s about giving your body what it needs to recover and function better: clarity, energy, improved digestion, and a sense of lightness that comes when your systems are supported rather than overworked. Paying attention to these small seasonal shifts especially after the long summer can make a huge difference in how you feel as you move into the next season.

Acupressure was developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago. Using the power and sensitivity of the hand, Acupressure Therapy is effective in the relief of stress-related ailments and is ideal for self-treatment and preventive health care for boosting the immune system. Acupuncture – Acupuncture is among the oldest healing practices in the world. As part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture aims to restore and maintain health through the stimulation of specific points on the body by inserting very thin needles into energy meridians running through the body. Excellent for fibromyalgia and pain management. Applied Kinesiology or Nutritional Muscle Response Testing - Developed by a Chiropractor, this method is carried out by checking muscle strength of the individual when exposed to various foods, supplements, homeopathics, herbs, or oils. A strong response shows that the source is strengthening the individual while a weak response is weakening the individual. This method is used to select a customized supplement regimen and diet for the client based on their body’s specific needs. Aromatherapy – The use of plant essences, or essential oils, for therapeutic purposes through supplementation or topical application. Aromatherapy Massage - Massage that includes traditional massage techniques combined with the use of essential oils to help stimulate relaxation, digestion, kidney and adrenal function, liver cleansing, detoxification and other physiological functions of the body. Custom essential oil blends will be created for the client the day of the treatment based on their body’s physiological needs. Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT) – A barefoot massage technique using deep compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body using organic massage creme. Gravitational force is combined with centrifugal and centripetal movements. This creates a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. Correct application will provide deep relaxation and stimulate the lymphatic system of the body. Bars are used above the head for support and balance. Cranio-sacral Massage - (also called CST bodywork or therapy) is an alternative medicine therapy used by osteopaths, massage therapists, naturopaths and chiropractors. A craniosacral therapy session involves the therapist placing their hands on the patient, which they claim allows them to "tune into the craniosacral rhythm". The practitioner gently works with the spine and the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms and fascia. In this way, the restrictions of nerve passages are said to be eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord is said to be optimized and misaligned bones are said to be restored to their proper position. Craniosacral therapists use the therapy to treat mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ Syndrome and chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Detoxification and Weight Loss Coaching – Detoxification rids the system of toxins through diet, supplementation, juicing or colon cleansing. This service will be provided by a certified holistic nutritional consultant or holistic health care practitioner who will support clients in creating the appropriate detoxification or weight loss plan based on their personal goals. Various forms of detoxification and cleansing may be recommended to help the body clear itself of toxicity that may be hindering one’s ability to reach a healthy state. Ear Candling - Ear Candling is the holistic way of treating ear aches and other common issues related to the ear. It is best defined as the use of an ear candle which is a beeswax- or paraffin- wax coated cloth that is shaped into a conical cylinder about 10” to 15” in length with varying widths. Ear Candling is a therapeutic relaxation technique similar to acupressure, acupuncture and aromatherapy. Grocery Coaching – Learn tips on selecting the healthiest foods from the thousands of choices at the grocery store while keeping money in your wallet! Inexpensive, healthy shopping is an art and this class will educate you on the do’s and don’ts of buying organic, what sections to shop in the store and where to find the healthiest foods in NEPA. Herbal Medicine – The use of medicinal herbs including roots, berries, flowers, stems, leaves or bark to promote health and healing. Homeopathy – A medical system that uses infinitesimal doses of natural substances to stimulate a person's immune system and the body's natural defenses. This treatment works on an energetic level only. Hot Stone Massage - Hot stone massage is reminiscent of a traditional swedish massage with the addition of hot stones specifically placed on the body to achieve optimal therapeutic benefits. The heated stones are also used to massage problem areas throughout the body. Integrative Holistic Wellness Exams – Offered by our Certified Holistic Health Care Practitioners, an integrative holistic wellness exam will include a comprehensive medical history assessment, including information on lifestyle, diet, emotions and stress levels followed by a non-invasive physical exam that includes use of iridology, traditional Chinese medicine observations, nail analysis, diet therapy and Japanese Hara analysis. Supplements will be selected based on information gathered and the individual will be tested utilizing nutritional muscle response testing and dowsing to determine appropriate treatment. Short and long term goals for reaching optimal health will be discussed after the exam and an individual treatment plan will be created. Intuitive Massage - Customized massages utilizing herbs and oils specifically chosen by the practitioner based on muscle response testing and the client’s specific health issues. This service can include any or all of the following: relaxation techniques, energy therapy, heat therapy, massage, essential oil therapy and ingestion of herbal tea. Ionic Foot Baths – Ionic foot baths are a form of detoxing in which the feet are put in a bath or spa that relieves tension and stress as well as removes toxins, heavy metals and parasites from the body. Iridology – Iridology is the science of analyzing the delicate structures of the iris of the eye to determine body constitution, inherent weaknesses and levels of health of the various systems and organs in the body. Japanese Hara Analysis – Developed by Japanese physicians this modality includes palpating the mu points, or areas where the Energy of specific organs gathers and collects in the abdominal region. Hara Analysis can recognize abnormal changes in the body that can be used to determine the location and nature of disease Juicing and Blending Classes – Juicing, blending, and raw foods classes will be offered for individuals looking to learn about cleansing on a deeper level. Many people want to do a juice fast or start eating a raw food diet but don’t know where to start. These classes will offer tips on how to juice, how best to start and stop a juice fast, and preparation of delicious foods through raw foods preparation and blending. Life Coaching - Life coaching is a practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life coaches help clients set and reach goals using a variety of tools and techniques. Life coaching draws inspiration from disciplines including sociology, psychology, positive adult development, career counseling, mentoring, and other types of counseling. Meditation Instruction and Practice – Meditation is a self-directed practice for relaxing the body and calming the mind. The aim is to bring inner peace within the self and the world in a positive and spiritual way. Meditation is a self-healing process. Studies have found that regular meditation can reduce healthcare use; increase longevity and quality of life; reduce chronic pain; reduce anxiety; reduce high blood pressure; reduce serum cholesterol level; reduce substance abuse; increase intelligence-related measures; reduce post-traumatic stress syndrome in war veterans; lower blood cortisol levels initially brought on by stress. Nutritional Counseling – Nutritional counseling is an ongoing process in which a health professional works with an individual to assess his or her usual dietary intake and identify areas where change is needed. Simple changes in diet can affect the health of the individual. Our practitioners work on a gradual basis to help the client move in the right direction with his or her health goals without shocking the system or making it too difficult of a regimen to follow. The counselor will create a personal education and food program specifically based on one’s needs and goals, utilizing supplementation and dietary changes while providing information, educational materials, support and follow-up consults to help the individual create and maintain their lifestyle change. Raindrop Technique Massage - An essential oil massage technique based on Lakota Native healing, Raindrop Therapy is the application of powerful antibacterial, antiviral oils along the spine. Raindrop has helped bring relief to chronic pain sufferers and has been known to cause visible improvement in scoliosis. It is also used for treating back pain, knee pain, tight shoulders and digestive system discomfort. Reflexology – Reflexology is an alternative medicine involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet, hands, or ears with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas on the feet and hands that correspond to various organs and parts of the body. By massaging these points we are able to affect circulation and energy flow to re-establish balance. Reiki – Reiki was developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. The teaching was continued and adapted by various teachers. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing as a form of complementary and alternative medicine and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine by some professionals. Through the use of this technique, practitioners transfer healing energy in the form of ki through the palms. Traditional Chinese Medicine – Asserts that the body has natural patterns of Chi or Energy that circulates throughout the body in channels called meridians. Symptoms of various illnesses are often believed to be the product of disrupted, blocked or unbalanced Chi. Observations of pulse, tongue, and skin, among others, allows the practitioner to determine potential pathways for balancing the system. Yoga – We will be offering private and semi-private yoga lessons which will provide a space in which the client can connect more with his or her own body, mind and spirit as well as getting individualized attention from his or her yoga instructor. Yoga poses and postures as well as breathing exercises can be selected especially to suit the client’s individual needs. The benefits of learning yoga one-on-one is that you can progress further more quickly by practicing postures and the breathing exercises at your own pace with the full attention of an instructor. Qi Gong – Private and semi-private Qi Gong instruction will be offered through Thrive Wellness Center.
