Meet our Physical Therapists!
Dr. Paul Wilson PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS, CMPT
Clinical Director
What lead you to PT?
Very early on I figured out I don’t have the attention span to sit at a desk, and wanted to find a career where I could serve others. I had my own sports injuries as a high schooler and my mom was an occupational therapist, which led me to want to do something in the medical field. In college I was able to spend time in Mexico and the Dominican Republic working both in medical clinics and physical therapy clinics. I found that with physical therapy one was able to make a lasting impact with the patient, and could see progress over time. It felt like Physical therapy allowed me to use my gifts and background in a way that just clicked with how my brain works. I really enjoy the puzzle of listening to a patients story, and figuring out what needs to be done to get them feeling and moving better again.
What do you like to do for fun?
Anything outside and with my family. We enjoy hiking, camping, and paddle boarding as a family. Mountain biking is my go to sport as of the last few years. Lifting weights and running are another hobby I really enjoy. Wrestling my two wild little boys is a favorite hobby of mine, and breaks out the second I walk in the door after work.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would that be?
I would love to do a long distance hiking or trail running trip through the alps going through beautiful mountain ranges and stopping at huts eating lots of local food.
Go to food:
Chipotle, one of the few restaurants that can consistently fill me up without putting me in a food coma.
Fun fact:
Prior to moving to Knoxville I worked in Nikes wellness center at their headquarters in Oregon, providing PT to their employees and athletes in a 60,000 square foot gym.
