Take the class. Create the plan. AND also be prepared to pivot. Your birth-story is already written. Open yourself up to possibility but let the Lord lead.

So much of birth is in your head. It is ABSOLUTELY okay to protect your mental space. In fact, it should be a priority.

Sometimes that looks like education.
Sometimes that looks like fear & anxiety processing
Sometimes that looks like a social media break.
And sometimes it looks like using your voice…

I often coach mamas to say this simple line, “I’d love to hear your birth story, AFTER I have mine.”

I did not plant this single soldier of optimism. I’m pretty sure it came from my chickens. The dirt is hard and inhospitable, I’ve not watered it once, but still this beauty blooms.

Sometimes the only person who “gets” it is the one who once held ALL of you, inside of THEM.

Who kept you safe & kissed the hurts. Who was strong enough to watch you grow, then let you go.

Who better to understand what it’s like to have FELT them grow, then let them go?

Because birth is a little like that. It’s the most epic journey of surrender and letting go.
