***$12 per hour, $500 sign-on bonus***
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations as directed by the Laundry Supervisor to assure that our facilities have the proper amount of linens at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
§ Possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
§ Maturity to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general public.
§ Able to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment and the appearance of laundry areas for sanitation order, and safety.
§ Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing laundry practices.
§ Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned by Laundry Supervisor.
§ Carry out assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
§ Collect and sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas.
§ Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and separate those items that require special stain removal/treatment.
§ Sort, count, and wash soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
§ Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily and/or as instructed.
§ During emergency conditions, assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
§ Clean floors, including sweeping, dusting, and damp/wet mopping. (Note: Assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
§ Ensure adequate supply of laundry/linen supplies is maintained to meet the daily needs of the residents.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes to stay informed on protocol. This also includes scheduled orientation and training programs as initiated by the Laundry Supervisor.
SAFETY
§ Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
§ Familiarity with possible exposure to blood/body fluids to assure that the Laundry Division is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
§ Follow established safety precautions, such as keeping floor dry and reporting spill immediately.
§ Report hazardous conditions and safety violations.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
§ Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and sustain repetitive motion to fold laundry.
§ Must be able to speak and write English language in an understandable manner.
§ Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses.
§ Must function independently and have flexibility along with personal integrity. Ability to work effectively with residents, families, personnel, and other support agencies.
§ Must meet general health requirements, which includes a health evaluation form.
§ Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such a weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
