In Norway, researchers made a remarkable discovery: simply painting one blade of a wind turbine black can dramatically reduce bird collisions — by up to 70%. The idea emerged from a study conducted on the Smøla wind farm, where scientists observed that the uniform, fast-spinning white blades created a visual “motion smear,” making them nearly invisible to birds in flight. By painting one blade black, the turbine became more visible, helping birds detect and avoid it midair.

This small, low-cost modification has the potential to protect countless birds, including species like white-tailed eagles and migratory seabirds, without reducing the efficiency of renewable energy production. It’s a perfect example of how thoughtful design and simple ecological insight can create harmony between sustainability and wildlife preservation.

The findings highlight a broader truth — that innovation and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand. As wind power continues to expand worldwide, such practical measures could play a vital role in making renewable energy truly sustainable — not just for people, but for the ecosystems we share the planet with.

He didn’t just do burpees.

He did 7,777 of them… in 12 hours straight.

Matthew Charles Morgan, a 26-year-old yoga instructor from New Jersey, set a new world record in September 2024.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., he averaged one burpee every 5.5 seconds without ever giving up.

He didn’t have a fancy setup or a team of trainers—just a plan, a purpose, and ridiculous mental endurance.
He broke the previous record by 362 reps, pacing through 39 rounds of pure discipline.

At the halfway mark his body started to fail, but he refused to stop.
He rested, refocused, and came back to finish strong—with a monster final set that sealed the record.

Before this day, he had already logged over 52,000 training burpees to prepare his mind and body.
He called it “a path of love and war”—a reminder that fitness is as much about heart as it is about muscle.

Because sometimes, the biggest strength isn’t in your arms.
It’s in your decision not to quit.

Kilian Jornet has done it again. In just three weeks, the endurance GOAT climbed all 72 accessible 14,000-foot peaks in the U.S. lower 48 and rode 2,500 miles between them.

His “States of Elevation” project took him from Colorado to Washington, covering 3,200 miles total with over 400,000 feet of elevation gain. On average, he ran a marathon and rode a Tour de France stage every day and slept only 4–6 hours per night in his crew’s RV.

What makes it even crazier? Jornet barely trained on his bike that year, and he fueled his body mostly with olive-oil-based nutrition rather than traditional high-carb strategies. Cookies, nuts, avocado, coconut oil, dates, banana, and even olive oil “shots” kept him moving through this extreme challenge.

Jornet’s story isn’t just about numbers it’s about two decades of ultra-endurance experience, an iron body, and insane adaptation. While his approach is incredible, it’s a reminder that only someone with his history of ultra-training could pull this off. For the rest of us, it’s pure inspiration, not a blueprint.

This feat proves Jornet is the Pogačar of trail running and the Merckx of mountain climbing. His combination of speed, stamina, and resilience is on another level.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen stunned fans in Liévin with a 3:45.14 indoor mile, shattering the world record by over a second.

Competing in a speed-focused race with pacemakers on his own for the final laps, the Norwegian unleashed his trademark closing burst to outpace rivals and pacing lights.

His performance follows American Yared Nuguse’s record just days earlier, marking two broken world records in as many weeks.

Already holder of the indoor 1500m record, Ingebrigtsen now eyes further feats.
