SDLAX Nutrition Program

SDLAX Nutrition Program Smart Eats teaches children to learn that healthy food tastes good and is fun to prepare!

Smart Eats is a program of the nutrition office at the La Crosse School District in La Crosse, Wis. It is a long-term initiative to incorporate more fresh, locally grown produce into school nutrition programs, teach children that healthy food tastes good and is fun to prepare and help students develop healthy eating habits for life.

Looks like our staff at La Crosse Logan High School is having some fun this week for National School Lunch Week!

Fun fact, in 1909 Milwaukee was one of the first areas in Wisconsin that served school lunches, they costed only a penny. Consisting of mostly soup, bread, or sandwiches. Well before any regulations were in place!
