Wishing all of our wonderful families a safe and happy holiday season! Friendly reminder about our holiday hours: We are OPEN on Christmas Eve (Weds 12/24) and New Years Eve (Weds 12/31) in the morning only for same-day sick visits. We are CLOSED on Christmas Day (Thurs 12/25) and New Years Day (Thurs 12/31) but are available by phone for emergencies. We are OPEN with normal hours on Friday 12/26 and Friday 1/2

With the recent news about recommendations for the hepatitis B vaccine, we want to address some myths and misinformation circulating about this vaccine. We are happy to answer any questions you may have or to have a conversation about why the hepatitis B vaccine is given in the newborn period. Your child’s health and safety is our priority and we stand with decades of vaccine science, safety, and success!

We have started to see cases of both Influenza A and B in our office. If your child is sick/has flu-like symptoms, we have plenty of same-day appointments available daily. It’s also not too late for a flu shot! Call for a nurse visit appointment for flu or COVID vaccines. We’re here for you! Stay healthy this cold and flu season!

It’s official- we have begun to see cases of influenza B at our office. It’s not too late to get your child a flu shot- schedule a nurse visit for the flu vaccine today! If your child has signs and symptoms of the flu, call for an appointment and feel free to call our office with any questions or concerns

October 1st marks the start of RSV season! RSV is a respiratory virus that can cause significant breathing problems in young infants, those with underlying respiratory conditions, and older adults. For children under 8 months old going into their first RSV season, we have a monoclonal antibody treatment, Beyfortus, that can protect these children from severe RSV symptoms. Call today for a nurse visit for Beyfortus or if you have any questions about this treatment! Let’s stay healthy this winter!

Just a reminder that our flu shots are here and you can make appointments for our flu shot clinics or for a nurse visit! Protect yourself and your loved ones with a flu vaccine this cold and flu season. Our flu shot clinics are the following dates: 9/23, 9/25, 9/30, 10/2, 10/8, and 10/14- you do need appointments for these clinics. We could also do nurse visit appointments at another time that works with your schedule. Call our office for an appointment today!

COVID Vaccine Update: due to the recent decision by the FDA regarding COVID vaccine recommendations, Pfizer has discontinued their COVID vaccine for children under 5yo and it will not be available for the upcoming cold/flu season. We will let everyone know if there are any major updates for the 5-12yo and 12+ COVID vaccines. We will have flu vaccines available in the next few weeks and will let everyone know once we have received our shipment. Please call our office if you have any questions or concerns

We are seeing an increase in cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease in the community. Treatment consists of supportive care: Tylenol or Motrin for fever and pain management, pushing fluids, soft foods, and rest. HFM is contagious, so please follow recommended guidelines for returning to school/daycare. If you have questions or concerns, please call during office hours to speak with one of our wonderful nurses!

School physical season is here! Don’t wait to schedule your child’s school/sports physical- appointments are filling up quickly! As a reminder, annual physicals are a time to review your child’s growth and development, discuss preventative care such as vaccines, and to complete any paperwork your child may need for school or camp. If you have a more complex issue or concern that you wish to discuss with your child’s provider, we ask that you schedule a separate visit or mention to our front desk staff that you need an extended appointment. We want to make sure we have time to address all of your concerns and respect other patient’s appointment times. We hope everyone is having a happy and healthy summer! ☀️
