If you’ve been around here for a while, you know I’ve lived with Hashimoto’s for over 30 years.
When I was younger, I took my meds and moved on with life. I didn’t fully understand how much autoimmunity actually impacts the body.
Then menopause hit.
And… BAM.
Even though I help women lose weight, build muscle, sleep better, and feel stronger for a living — things started shifting for me too.
My sleep was off.
My digestion was off.
I was diagnosed with osteopenia (mild, but still… what?!)
And I had heartburn for the first time in my life.
So I did what I always tell my clients to do: I tuned in instead of powering through.
I took a leap of faith (and yes… a big chunk of cash 😅) and enrolled in a 5-month functional medicine program for women with thyroid issues.
Here’s what surprised me most:
• I assumed my blood sugar was “fine” because I eat well and lift weights. It wasn’t. I was waking up at night from low blood sugar.
• Even healthy foods can slow healing if they’re not right for your body.
• I needed more rest and recovery, not more effort.
• Supplements help, but only when diet and lifestyle are doing the heavy lifting.
• And the right kind of exercise really is medicine.
The biggest takeaway?
What I’ve been teaching my clients, with or without autoimmunity, actually works.
I’ve always believed: teach from the scar, not the wound.
This experience didn’t just help me, it clarified how I want to help you.
I’m creating something simple, doable, and grounding to help women lose weight, reduce cravings, sleep better, and feel steady again.
