C-section mamas — what's one thing you wish you'd known before your surgery? Drop it below for the mamas who need to hear it. 💜
----
C-section mamas — your milk will come in. It might just take a little longer, and that is completely normal.
After a c-section, your body didn't experience the same hormonal shift that happens during a vaginal birth — and that can delay your milk by 24 to 72 hours (sometimes more). It doesn't mean something is wrong. It doesn't mean you can't breastfeed.
Here's what you can do in the meantime:
→ Skin to skin as soon and as often as possible
→ Offer the breast frequently — even before milk comes in
→ Ask about hand expression to get colostrum flowing
→ Stay hydrated and rest when you can (we know, easier said than done)
If you're struggling or not sure what's normal — that's exactly what we're here for. Reach out. You don't have to figure this out alone.
