2. Insulin becomes less effective as we age due to a combination of reduced insulin sensitivity and decreased insulin production. Aging causes cells to become less responsive to insulin, and the pancreas produces less of it, which can lead to higher blood sugar level… excess sugar is stored as fat.

Hormone therapies for menopause will no longer carry a black box warning about serious risk such as breast, cancer, heart, attack, and stroke, the FDA announced today!

In the announcement and an accompanying editorial in the medical journal JAMA, the FDA commissioner and other agency officials said the warnings are based on outdated literature and have discouraged women from taking hormone therapy.

“We are going to stop the fear machine steering women away from this life, changing, even life, saving treatment… with the exception of antibiotics and vaccines, there may be no medication in the modern world that can improve the health outcomes of older women on a population level more than hormone therapy …”FDA commissioner Makary said. 

HHS states; An analysis of 30 trials with 26,708 women participants found hormone replacement therapy was not associated with an increase increased cancer, mortality. In fact, women who start hormone replacement therapy before the age of 60 appear to have a decreased mortality risk.
