A few weeks ago Dr. Natalie Douglas coordinated a heartfelt screening of C. Nathaniel Brown’s film “Remember Me”. It was a beautiful night talking about hard conversations surrounding dementia, caregiving and the African-American community.

The Family Chapter of the Year Award goes to the Lafayette Family Chapter!

This crew has been building something truly special in their little corner of Louisiana: a vibrant, welcoming, and joyful space for kids and teens who stutter and the families who love them. Their events are legendary. We’re talking roller skating nights for International Stuttering Awareness Month, holiday parties, Kahoot battles, and even a king cake taste test showdown.

Led by the all-star team of Anne, Bella (not pictured), Evan, and Lucas, the Lafayette Family Chapter has shown what it means to grow a stuttering community (and to do it with creativity).

The NSA is proud to recognize and celebrate the Lafayette Family Chapter for this award. Congratulations!
