A Restoration Story – This Is His Place

Today we celebrate more than just a piece of plastic… we celebrate restoration.

Ray is holding something he hasn’t had since 1995 — his driver’s license. For many, that might seem small, but for Ray, it represents years of struggle, loss, and brokenness… and now, redemption.

When Ray first walked through the doors of His Place, he was broken and defeated. Life had taken its toll. The weight of past choices, pain, and years without direction had left him feeling like there was nothing left.

But God…

God began to do what only He can do — restore.
Little by little, day by day, step by step, God started putting the pieces back together. Not overnight, not all at once, but faithfully. And today, we are seeing the fruit of that restoration.

The Word says in Joel 2:25:
“I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”
That’s exactly what we’re witnessing.

God didn’t just restore Ray’s license — He restored his life.
He restored his identity.
He restored his purpose.
He restored his family.

Since coming to Christ, Ray now has his son here with him. And for the first time, he’s been able to see his grandbabies. Moments that once seemed lost forever…
God gave them back.

That’s the power of Jesus.
That’s what restoration looks like.
That’s what happens when a man surrenders his life to God.
This is more than a testimony…
This is hope.
This is redemption.
This is His Place.

At the site of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, we are reminded that history is filled with moments of division, struggle, and conflict. But today, standing on that same ground, we choose something different—we choose unity.
Where there was once fighting, we stand as brothers. Where there was once separation, we walk together in purpose. At His Place, we understand that real strength isn’t found in standing alone, but in standing together in Christ.
The battles we fight today aren’t against each other—they’re against the past, against addiction, against brokenness. And we overcome not by division, but by unity.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1
Together, we rise. Together, we heal. Together, we walk in freedom.
