These times are my most favorite.. sometimes we have a lot to say.. other times we just sit quietly and unwind from our work week. There’s something about slowing down, a change of scenery, no social media, no deadlines & nowhere to be except HERE, together.
Slowing down and spending quality time together is something we all should prioritize more in this fast paced world we live in. Whether it’s coffee, or getting out in nature, find the time…. Feeling blessed ❤️

Confidence is one’s belief to figure things out.. “Brendon Burchard”.
It’s been a long journey “figuring things out” & getting my body and mind to a healthy place.
It’s had bumps, detours and lots of hills along the way.
It’s been over a 10 year process of changing my lifestyle.. Diet, exercise, relationships and everything in between.
Confidence builds from the inside then slowly appears on the outside.
Baby steps add up to big changes over a period of time. It doesn’t happen overnight.
There were times I wanted to quit, sure. There were times I felt lonely & misunderstood.
But 100% worth it.
We only get one life. Take care of your body now! It’s not too late to make changes and feel your very best. Don’t settle.
I promise you won’t regret giving up some old habits that are not serving you to be your best self.
Start small.. just start!
I would have never imagined wearing shorts to the gym because my legs are my least favorite feature.. those that know me.. know!
But here I am.. This confident, weight lifting 54 year old, rocking my crop Jesus T-shirt, shorts and wearing a smile!
Here’s your sign.. Keep going and remember it’s never to late to start! Just start! ❤️❤️

Saturdays & such.. Had a slow morning in the yard, coffee date, errands and shopping for things we absolutely don’t need..It’s the simple things that make me happy! How are you spending the day?

Update on life & such…
Still maintaining a solid 3 days of weight training each week and continuing active movement daily (walking)..and eating well—(95% of the time😉)
My body seems to be liking where I’m at.
Not going to lie though— I struggle some days with my mindset and get frustrated with myself.
When I look in the mirror I don’t always like what I see & can start finding the things that aren’t exactly how I’d like them to be or look.
I’ve heard myself whisper.. you’ve still got loose skin girl, your legs don’t look like you workout much, maybe you just just skip your 2 piece this summer move on to your grandma one piece 🤣
But seriously, I catch myself saying these things when I look at myself in the mirror.
Then I step back and say.. wait a minute! Look how far you’ve come & all the things you have accomplished, remember when you thought that being fit and healthy was not in your genes & you were destined be big your whole life?
That’s when I know I’ve definitely changed both mentally & physically and the real transformation has happened.
Be proud of each small change and progress you’ve made no matter how little. Be consistent. Shut out the noise of others. Be a role model to others. You do you..& above all else NEVER, EVER give up when things get hard. That’s a given! Things will be hard and you’ll get frustrated & have bad days. Thing is, you don’t need to stay there! Remember your why and why you started. And the last thing is — this is YOUR journey and no one else’s.
KEEP GOING! You got this! 👊🏻👏🏻❤️💪🏻

Hard work..💪🏻
Hesitated to post another progress pic.. but keep reading.. this is more than a typical progress picture.
Over the last 11 months, I have gone through not only what appears to some as physical (external)changes, but to me the biggest change has been internal. ❤️
I have struggled several years since turning 50 & transitioning into another phase of life. Hi menopause! 👋🏻
I have been working with a functional medical Dr to help me get to the root cause of my issues. Thinking oh yeah this is my hormones.. give me something for that & I’ll be good. Come to find out, I had so much more going on besides hormones.
Stage 2 liver disease, autoimmune issues,SIBO, leaky gut among others.
I kind of had to take a big step back and really it was time to focus on me. Internally & externally. (Drs orders)
A functional doctor works on the whole body mentally/ physically and gets to the root cause.
I’m happy to report as of my last bloodwork work all numbers are still trending downward and my markers are much closer to where they need to be. My liver function is completely normal, cholesterol has substantially dropped, autoimmune markers are down, glucose is normal, hormones are balanced, gut issues resolved. And most importantly my outlook, attitude, my relationship with God & family, my heart are in a very good place!
Not going to lie, it’s been a lot of work.. mentally and physically but it’s worth it knowing it is paying of big in more ways than one!
I don’t feel like I’m giving things up now for what I’m getting in return long term! ❤️❤️

Was getting down on myself over the last few weeks as I was not able to be consistent going to the gym because.. life happens. Was sick , then lots of work stress, out of town, etc.
Funny how when you just quit worrying about it & get back to your routine.. you just forget about it & realize a few weeks in the big picture doesn’t really effect your progress..
Don’t get down on yourself.. life IS going to happen!
It’s how you handle your mindset and just get back to it as soon as you can..
Even if your type of workouts may change, it’s about showing up consistently for yourself & not giving up!
Give yourself some grace & keep moving forward!
Much ❤️✌🏻💪🏻
