Local Laguna Beach artist, Brynne Cogorno, has been creating art all her life. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 2007, where she received her bachelor of fine arts in painting & drawing. Backward Prints was founded in Laguna Beach, CA in August 2008, with all intentions of reminding people to smile and laugh. Cogorno shows love for life and attention for our planet through her beautiful handmade notes. Cogorno started screen printing about 4 years ago, and has fallen in love with the medium. She continues to illustrate all of her designs in her studio, and hand prints each garment. If you are interested in learning how to screen print, you can sign up for one of Ms. Cogorno’s classes offered through the Sawdust Art Festival. When Brynne isn’t working, she is off in the hills hiking, or practicing yoga. She became a Certified Yoga Instructor in 2013.

I've fallen down the rabbit hole and landed in Alice & Wonderland. I drank something in a bottle and made me shrink. I started making mugs. One day I took a bite of a cookie that the rabbit gave to me, and I grew back to normal size. The craziest thing, my mugs were now Mini sized, but that's okay because it's a happy accident. The Mad hatter said, "Have I gone mad Alice?" And Alice replied, "All the best have."

And there you have it. I now have 22 teeny mini mugs that I'll be turning into golf keychains and possibly a set of hoop earrings.

Stay magical friends. And stay tuned for my keychain release. These cuties still need to be fired. Can't wait to see the final result.

✨✨ January ✨✨

You've taught me the importance of rest, moving slow, and listening to my body, my mind, and my soul. One of my goals this month was to read 1 book, and I'm excited to say I did. I read the Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods. The thing is, reading helped me rest my body and my mind, but helped me got off my phone which was also a goal of mine. I used to hate reading. I really really disliked the idea of it. It seemed like reading equated to being lazy in my mind because I'm a doer, never sitting down kind of women. But as I get older, I question why I feel the need to constantly being "doing" and is it really necessary? I think there are seasons of energetic and creative flow, and for me, January is the 1 month of the year that I like to slow the crap down. I've decided that rest is indeed what's going to help me get through my busy seasons, and rest is going help me fill my cup with creativity. It is in the stillness when we allow ourselves to be bored that ideas come and whisper in our ears.
