Hi! Here is a video where I talk about mindful eating!

Watch on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/9o9t5aS_aM8?si=b0dXsbcKoF_aVnLA

Mindful eating is not a diet. Eating mindfully promotes better digestion, keeping you full with less food, and helps you tune into your innate hunger and fullness cues.

This was originally recorded as part of my podcast .

I’m in the process of making a YouTube channel for True Harmony Nutrition where I will provide more advice like this so stay tuned!

Meet your gut “garden!”

Your gut is like a garden full of tiny bacteria that help keep you healthy. It is full of microbes – both beneficial and not-so-helpful.

When the “good” and “bad” bacteria are out of balance (gut dysbiosis), your body can feel it! This can present as bloating, low energy, or skin changes.

How can you create a balanced gut garden?

- Eat colorful plants
- Stay hydrated
- Get enough sleep

You don’t need a detox, just consistent care for your inner garden. 🌿

Hi! I will be doing a series of posts about gut health. These will mainly apply to those who don’t have chronic digestive issues, but I will address a few of those that I do work with in the future.

Even if we dont have stomach issues, what goes on in our gut impacts our overall health. A healthy gut is tied to better digestion, immunity, skin, weight management and just health in general. 😊 stay tuned for more.

What is inflammation?

Inflammation is how your body fights infections and heals from injuries. Sometimes, however, it gets out of hand and lasts longer than it should. This is chronic inflammation.

Chronic inflammation may appear as fatigue, skin issues, joint pain, poor injury recovery, persistent pain, bloating, weight gain or loss, and malaise.

Here are just a few fruits and veggies that are in season for the month of October! Which is your favorite?

Produce that is in season tastes the best!

A wonderful way to support local farmers is by purchasing seasonal produce at farmers' markets!

It can also save you money, as you can find seasonal produce in larger amounts, which means they may go on sale more often at your local grocer

Hope everyone had a wonderful summer. The season will linger on until September 22.

It's super hot out in Southern California! You can still enjoy summer fruits and vegetables like watermelon - while its peak season is in July & August, the last harvest is in September.

As for berries, did you know that the season for locally grown raspberries in California runs from April to as late as November? Now, if they would only last more than a day in the fridge, but that is another story.

Potential new help for pre-diabetes: fish oil!

The Research of UK Biobank data found that habitual fish oil supplementation, which provides marine n-3 fatty acids like DHA and EPA, was associated with a 9% reduction in the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes among people with prediabetes.

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) has become one of the leading chronic diseases worldwide in terms of both incidence and mortality
