Thanks to all who have helped make this possible. October is a big month for fundraising as it allows the school to plan for next spring and falls enrollment. The full endowment is set at $35,000 to allow future Midwifery students the ability to be a part of this scholarship created in my moms name. She not only was a midwife a friend to so many but also an educator and devoted much of her adult life to academia. Thank you for your consideration and feel free to share.

Hey all Chris here, I wanted to do a post about this and explain things a little further. As many of you know my mom, an amazing midwife and educator passed away 6 months ago from what we believe to have been ALS. While things are still evolving to the new normal some great people have come together to help establish this scholarship in my moms name. This will help future midwives advance and at the same time keep my moms name alive just a little longer. Obviously with the holidays coming I totally understand things are tight but if you could help get this going I would truly appreciate it.

See the link in sour story.

With that said, stay tuned to some updates on how we plan to use our presence online to help further the birth community and those who work tirelessly to continue empowering childbirth.

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Wanted to let everyone know we created an Evite for my moms celebration due to the interest levels. We had 1,026 unique visitors in the last few weeks. Also, for those who are interested, I put together and published part two going into more depth as to what happened with my mom, Bj Snell. Please enjoy and make sure to visit www.mamasnell.com for more information and to RSVP.

RSVP is not needed to attended but we’re trying to get some idea of the numbers.

Hope to see everyone there..

Hey all- Chris here, again:
Wow, the last few days have been filled with a lot of emotions, some I’m not really sure how to even explain. It has, also, been amazing to see all the stories, memories and experiences, most of which have been shared on these social media pages, about my mom. It has really helped my family, especially my dad, brother and myself. We, obviously, knew how amazing she was and how much she inspired us daily and it’s truly awesome to see how she did the same for so many lives. My mom and I had wanted to create a post a while back explaining what happened in 2021 and why, in essence, Beach Cities Midwifery ceased to operate. Additionally, I know my mom and my family would want the community to know and understand, ultimately, what happened and how April 11th became a day we will never forget. This, also, is going to help me and I hope, at the very least, it will help others process this tragedy.

Hello Beach Cities Midwifery Family and everyone touched by Mama Snell:

Early in the afternoon, on a beautiful Monday, my Mom Dr. Betty “Bj” Elaine Snell gracefully passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones. An absolutely mountain of a human, she founded this practice 20 years ago with the purpose of bringing Midwifery and out of hospital birth options to everyone. She not only founded this practice but established four out of hospital birthing centers, created several Nursing and Nurse Midwifery programs at universities around Southern California, delivered thousands of babies and raised two amazing kids (little bias of course). Her legacy lives on in the people who experienced her love in healthcare, in friendship, in mentorship, as a colleague, a second mom to dozens if not hundreds and the best mom two kids could ask for. Not to mention an amazing spouse to my dad. Please, please leave your messages, thoughts, considerations, etc as I know she would have loved to hear them and it helps our family heal. Additionally, if you have any pictures of her and you would like to share, please DM or Tag us in the post.. Thank you all,

Chris

Hey all, happy Friday! Circle City Midwifery (formerly Beach Cities Midwifery) is hiring in Corona, Ca. We’re looking for a new Patient Care Coordinator to help keep our growing practice running. If you are interested in working in a Birth Center with some great people email us at ccadmin@aspenmedgroup.com..

Circle City Midwifery was established in 2021 by our back up provider Dr. E, always believing Midwifery has a role and a needed purpose within the community took over ownership. We are seeking to rebuild a strong natural birth community in the Inland Empire under a physician owned, midwife led model of care in the birth center and hospital setting. A few of the administrative team stayed on with Circle City Midwifery, including Shantal and Chris. Along with our administrative team, we are led by our acting clinical director Elizabeth Bader, CNM and joined by midwives Yen Dahl and Sherae Williams.

We look forward to growing with our community.
