BEY03F aka Black Wolf!
We feel compelled to talk about the precious female wolf that graced us here in LA County and made history. It also makes our heart's sing when seeing that the press has been predominately positive. However, there is much confusion and omission of her orgins and what has led her here to search for a mate in extict territory.
Her collared name is BEY03F. She was born in 2023 to the recently formed Beyem Seyo Wolf Pack. In October, 2025, ranchers won permission to exterminate this pack claiming that they had killed 70 or 92 livestock in a 7 month period. (Depending on which article you read.) That's a breeding pair and 5 juvenile (6 months-2 year old) offspring. Those numbers are physically and mathematically impossible for a pack this small, young and inexperienced. In other words, it's preposterous. Still, CDFW killed the breeding pair, a juvenile they thought was an adult, found two dead prior to their capture to "natural causes" and have given up looking for two others. BEY03F, had left the pack last Spring before her pack was killed. This is a natural occurrence in the wild.
Still, she is left to her own devices, pack free and vulnerable to the elements.
It is important to us to point out that as excited as we are about wolves recovering in California, we need to think carefully about how we prepare for more and where they can live safely.
The agency we pay to protect her will not ensure her survival. Although she dispersed naturally, she has two siblings out there that lost their pack family and are on their own. Maybe too young to make it. When it happens naturally in the wild that's one thing, when it is caused by human greed and grievance, that's another. If they can dart them to kill them, they can dart them to move them.
BEY03F was collared near the Yowlumni Pack Territory. We can only assume she was not accepted by them and went her own way. At this time of season, hormones raging, she will be compelled to search for a mate. There are none South of Tulare County that we are aware of. To everyone's amazement, the amount of territory they can traverse in a short amount of time is astounding.
By Saturday afternoon, she was just 8 miles down the road from us. She doesn't just need our applause, she needs our prayers. She is too close to the 5 Fwy for our comfort. By Sunday, she had headed down towards Castaic Lake and as of now (pictured below) she seems to be heading back East towards the mountains between here and Tehachipi and away from the Freeway. Big sigh of relief!
It is the CDFW policy not to interfere with wolf migration unless it is on behalf of the Livestock Industry, but more will be coming. It seems like the safest and most reasonable approach would be to steer (pun intended) the wolves into areas where they can thrive and away from public grazing land so the environment can heal with help from the wolves and the Livestock Industry is not deterred from it's purpose. There is an estimated count of 5.2 Million head of cattle in California with the most number of wolf packs outside of Yellowstone National Park and there isn't a better plan than this?
All we can say is, God Speed Little Girl! We have named her Black Wolf which is what we used to call Shadow! She has a destiny and we have no choice but to release her to fate for the time being. Until we, as humans have the will to do what we know scientifically works, we have to know and hold her highest good and the highest good of all wolves in California in our consciousness. We will Know as wolf lovers that they will find a place in this state they can call their own. Free and safe.

Is this a Soul Test?

Every year, a dear friend gifts Paul and me an astrological reading by the deeply intuitive and talented Phyllis Firak-Mitz. Apparently, 2026 marks the beginning of what is called a Threshold Era. The last time humanity stood at a similar crossroads was about 1,400 years ago. As I reviewed our personal readings, I began wondering about what happened in the world back then and how it might compare to this moment. If we are experiencing a Threshold Era, touching the world at large—and especially the current reality of the United States, how may I find some comfort and Spiritual Solutions to help me and others while we are transforming into an unforeseen and unpredictable future.

When so much feels volatile, fast-moving, and uncertain, perspective itself can be grounding. I found comfort from the insights from history and especially by what seemed to work and can focus on that and not become a victim of the fear permeating the very atmosphere. My intention here is to offer—something to hold onto when the noise gets too loud and suffocating.

What Worked-What Didn’t

Astrologically speaking, both then and now, humanity appears to be living through a Threshold Era: a time of endings, revelations, and deep re-ordering. These are not quiet spiritual moments, they are volatile, visionary, and catalytic; periods when old structures strain under the weight of what they can no longer hold.
During times like this, certainty becomes seductive. When ambiguity hurts, people often cling to rigid beliefs or familiar systems, even when those systems are no longer serving life. In the United States, we can feel this tension clearly. Authority is decentralizing. Influence no longer flows strictly from the top down, but outward—through independent journalists, grassroots organizers, spiritual teachers outside formal religion, and the voices of survivors, whistleblowers, and storytellers. That’s you and I.
History offers an important reassurance here: confusion often appears right before coherence is reborn. In the 600s, people didn’t wake up knowing what the new world would look like; they simply knew the old one was no longer telling the truth. Empires, do not fall because transformation is happening—they fall when they refuse to participate in it.

In both eras, the speed of information outpaced collective wisdom, creating fear and fragmentation—but also possibility. And when empires reorganize, the real continuity of humanity doesn’t happen loudly or from centers of power. It happens quietly, through families, healers, teachers, storytellers, and caretakers of land and life. These are the threads that keep us human while systems shift. We can embrace the Indigenous Ways.

Periods like this remind us that values often outlive systems. The essential question has never been How do we fix the system? but rather What no longer fits—and what wants to be born next? The people who carry civilization forward are rarely the loudest or most certain. They are the ones who stay anchored in integrity while everything else is in motion.

We don’t have to fix the world. We just must help keep it human.
History so relevantly shows that fear accelerates harm—but presence slows collapse. The people who survived and shaped what came next were not fearless. They were grounded. Astrologically and historically, this is not a doom moment—it is a soul test moment. And how we meet it matters.
What follows is Wolf Wisdom—I share as a way to bring comfort, perspective, and a steadier footing during times that ask way too much of our nervous systems.

Wolf Wisdom for a Soul Test Moment 🐺

When the world feels loud, unstable, or overwhelming, I come back to this:

1. When the forest feels unfamiliar
The wolf slows, listens, and learns the land again.
Confusion isn’t danger—it’s transition.
You’re not lost. You’re between trails.

2. When the howling gets loud
Wolves don’t follow the loudest howl.
They follow truth, steadiness, and pack resonance.
This is a test of integrity, not certainty.

3. When you feel small against the world
The pack survives through care and presence.
Every role matters—especially the quiet ones.
You don’t have to fix the forest. Tend to the present.

4. When you need to step back
Wolves retreat to rest and heal.
Stillness is part of survival.
Rest is wisdom gathering strength.
5. When fear tries to lead

A cruel wolf is pushed aside.
The pack does not abide.
The pack is organized, not chaotic.
They stand united.
Pack Anchor:

“I will not abandon my humanity.
I will move with presence,
rest when needed,
and remember who I am.”

never needed to be the loudest in the room.
Her power was never meant to shout — it was meant to endure.
In the stillness of the wild, where no one applauds and nothing pretends, she learned that true strength doesn’t ask for attention. It stands calmly, rooted in truth, carrying wisdom earned through silence. 🤍
Like the wolf moving through the mist, she understands that noise often hides insecurity, while silence holds certainty. She doesn’t react to everything anymore. She chooses what deserves her energy, her voice, her heart. 🐾
There were times she could have spoken louder,
proved more,
defended herself endlessly.
But she chose something stronger —
peace.
Her silence isn’t weakness.
It’s discernment.
It’s growth.
It’s the confidence of someone who knows who she is without needing validation. ✨
She walks forward quietly now,
steady and unshaken,
letting her presence speak where words no longer matter.
Because real strength doesn’t perform.
It simply exists —
calm, grounded, and unwavering. 🌙🐺

The Truest Resilience
The wolf stands merged with burning sky,
with forest silhouettes that fly
across its form—both wild and kind,
both fierce and gentle intertwined.
To be soft in a hard world takes
more courage than the armor makes,
more strength than walls built high and thick,
more power than the hardest brick.
The world will tell you to grow cold,
to build defenses, to withhold
your tenderness, your open heart,
to keep your gentleness apart.
"Be hard," it says, "or you will break,
be tough or you will never make
it through the trials that await,
be strong means building walls of hate."
But the wolf knows a different truth:
that softness is resilience's proof,
that staying tender through the pain
is how the strongest souls remain.
To be soft doesn't mean you're weak,
it doesn't mean you cannot speak
with power or with clarity—
it means you choose humanity.
It means when life has made you bleed,
you don't harden like a seed
into stone that cannot grow,
but stay soft enough to know.
To feel, to love, to hurt, to care,
to keep your heart exposed to air,
to refuse to close yourself away,
to remain soft day by day.
The hardest thing is staying open,
the bravest choice is still to hope when
everything has taught you not to trust,
when cynicism seems a must.
The wolf carries the forest within,
the fire and the trees begin
to show that strength and soft can meet,
that gentle hearts are not defeat.
True resilience isn't armor worn,
it's not becoming hard and torn
from feeling what you need to feel—
it's staying soft while you still heal.
It's choosing kindness when it's hard,
it's keeping down your every guard,
it's loving when you've been betrayed,
it's staying soft when you're afraid.
So be the wolf beneath the sky,
be both the forest and the high
dramatic clouds that paint the scene,
be soft and strong and in between.
For in a world that's grown so cold,
that tells you hardness makes you bold,
the truest rebels are the ones
who stay soft beneath harsh suns.

We already inherently know how to do this. Choose to. 🐺❤️🕊

In a world obsessed with power and success, this message reminds us what the planet truly needs: peacemakers, healers, and lovers of all kinds. Not more people racing to the top, but those willing to serve, restore, and bring life back into balance.

The image of an indigenous elder standing in unity with a bear symbolizes deep respect for nature and all living beings. It calls for a new kind of leadership—rooted in compassion, empathy, and stewardship rather than domination. True strength lies not in success, but in restoring harmony with the Earth and each other.

Under the Turtle’s Shield

Upon the shell of the ancient one,
the children place their hands—
black, red, yellow, white—
all colors of the Earth’s breath.

The Turtle listens,
its heart as old as the first dawn,
its back strong as the mountains,
its spirit wide as the oceans.

“Do not fear,” it whispers,
“I carry you across rivers of sorrow,
I shelter you beneath feathers of peace,
I guard your dreams beneath the stars.”

Every child matters—
each laugh a sacred song,
each tear a seed of tomorrow.

And the Turtle, eternal,
walks on,
with the weight of the world
and the lightness of children’s hope
safe upon its back.

The Eagle’s Promise

Beneath my wings, you will not fall,
Through storm and shadow, I shield it all.
My eyes are sharp, my spirit strong,
I guard your soul, where you belong.

No harm shall reach, no night shall bind,
For love eternal is etched in time.
Child of the earth, child of the sky,
With me beside you, you will always fly.
