Fairytales, mysteries, and recipes to cook… Instead of one more piece of candy please enjoy a book!

Anyone else handing out things other than candy this Halloween? I’ve got hundreds of books for the trick-or-treaters this year. We also put all of the candy that we’ve received at various trunk or treats and church events this year out for the kids to take. For my allergy-friendly candy this year we went with taffy from as well as dye-free suckers from .

POV: You’re a travel baseball mom, who lets the kids have screen time at the hotel so you can make lunches for tomorrow.

We brought bread from home for turkey sandwiches, plus salami, goat cheese, and veggies.

To Whom It May Concern:
My 10 year old son DOES have shoes without giant holes that fit him. . . . He just chooses not to wear them. Truth be told, I’m more concerned about my kids having 2 shoes on their feet when we rush out the door for dance, baseball, softball, and church, so I don’t know how long he’s been wearing these shoes out in public. I promise I’m a great mom! Please accept my apology and know that the issue has been resolved. I threw this pair away today (with some pushback), showed him a practically new pair in his shoe bin that he can wear, and I Amazon Prime’d a basic pair to have on deck as his backup when his feet decide to grow and he doesn’t tell me. I’d say this won’t happen again, but I know it will. Thank you for your grace and understanding.

I ate more dairy today than I have in the last 10 years 😂, and it was worth it!

Here’s the backstory. . . Like all healthy couples, my husband and I send each other Reels from the same room on a regular basis. My contributions usually consist of hilarious videos of people getting hurt, inappropriate jokes, and viral recipes that I wish I could eat, but can’t. Well, it turns out my husband has been saving the recipes I’ve sent him over the past year, and planned my birthday breakfast and dinner around them! (Lunch was a pupusa from made with pasture raised pork and local ingredients.) I knew he was taking over the kitchen all day, but to go to this length of planning was the absolute sweetest! I’m so glad my son and three daughters got to watch their daddy execute this elaborate act of love today. It was a great birthday, and I’m going to be thinking about all that cheesy goodness for the next year!
