You reap what you sow is a metaphor which means you will eventually have to face up to the consequences of your actions....
02/09/2022

You reap what you sow is a metaphor which means you will eventually have to face up to the consequences of your actions. In this metaphor, to reap is "to gather a crop" and to sow means "to plant seeds." Which can also be applied to the act of thinking. For example, the things we put into our mind will grow and become our reality. Our reality reflects our inner selves. Our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and beliefs translate into how we carry ourselves, how we treat ourselves, our environment, the people we surround ourselves with, and how we treat others.

The things that are within our control include our thoughts, words, actions, behaviors, and feelings. We cannot control how others think or feel about us, nor can we control the things they say or do. When we place our time and energy into things that are beyond our control, we move further away from what we really want. When working on our higher self, there are plenty of things that can distract us from what really matters. Everything from our phones, social media, television, our friends, relationships, family gatherings, and other recreational activities.

None of these are necessarily bad for you but indulging in them without dedicating time to oneself can prove to be a major distraction. Some can become addictive or can work as a major coping mechanism. For instance, taking time to self-reflect can be painful due to unresolved trauma, so one might binge watch a series of show to fill their time and avoid dealing with it. Rather than placing effort into chasing things that may or may not be beneficial to you, try working on your inner self. Finding your inner peace will manifest into different areas of your life and present you with opportunities that resonate with you vibrationally.

“Society Teaches Us To Bury Parts Of Ourselves So Deep.. For Fear Of Hidden Places Being Discovered.” ~Jess Mally

Often, those coming into womanhood are taught truly little about what becoming a young woman truly means. Schools may offer s*x education on topics such as these:

- Gender Identity
- Body Image
- Relationships
- Decision-making
- Contraceptives
- Sexually Transmitted Disease

But how often are these topics reinforced throughout the upbringing of young adults? Do parents provide safe spaces for questions to be asked? If not spoken about with parents, where do the young adults turn to for information?

A lack of knowledge in s*xual education leads to misinformation and puts the person at risk of s*xual diseases, unplanned pregnancies, unsafe abortions, r**e, and more.

Sexual education can combat insecure feelings about body image, counteract prejudices, correct misconceptions, and can help foster autonomy and identity. These concepts, when carried into adulthood, allow each person the opportunity to make informed decisions.

Questions to Probe Your Mind:

- Who taught you about your body?
- Have you created a safe space to show all aspects of your body love?
- Do you know what your v***a looks like?
- How often do you make time to honor your sacred center?
- Do you know the different parts of the v***a and their functions?
- Feel free to share this post with the women in your life! Or with those you feel will benefit from this information.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I’d like to discuss part 3 of the Body Care Routine Series which focuses on the legs, knees, feet, and toes. I understand everyone has their own way of caring for self, and one person's routine may not resemble another. However, these posts serve mainly as a guideline for those in the audience who have not created a routine yet. Another goal of mine is to have it reach a younger audience who aren’t necessarily familiar with concepts such as these and do not know where to start. If you know anyone who may benefit from this platform, feel free to share it with them by tagging them below.

While the slides themselves are packed full of information, there are a few more tips I would like to share.

1. When using a razor to remove hair from the body, try to designate a razor to each part. One for the legs and the other for p***c hair.
2. Replacing a razor blade depends on the type of razor you’re using. It is recommended that you replace blades every 5-8 shaves.
3. Single bladed razors reduce your chance of ingrown hairs and skin irritation.
4. Multi-blade razors get a closer shave by tugging, pulling, and cutting the hair below skin level.
5. Using a dull blade causes more nicks and cuts than a new sharp blade. The new b lade needs one pass to get the job done whereas a full blade needs one pass to get the job done whereas a full blade needs to be passed over the same area more than once, increasing chances of skin irritation.
6. NEVER share razors blades for sanitary reasons.
7. Rinse razors after each use by running water through blades until all the hair is out. Sanitize blades by immersing them in alcohol. Allow them to air dry and store them in a dry cool area. Avoid leaving razors in the shower.
8. Apply a moisturizing lotion or oil after you shave to keep skin hydrated.

Toe hygiene is also an important aspect of your health. If you are not able to get your toes cleaned at nail salon, following these steps at home can still help you achieve a clean pedicure.

- Trim toenails regularly with a nail clipper designated for your toes only.
- Cut nails after showering to soften nails and go straight across with clippers to avoid ingrown toenails.
- File nails to smooth any jagged edges that could snag or tear as they grow.
- Avoid calluses and cracked heels by using a pumice scrub and stone to exfoliate dead skin from bottom of your feet.

In times when you experience bad mental health days, do you ever have a plan or routine to put in motion to help uplift your spirits. Or does it blind you, leaving you in a mental pit of despair? If that question was difficult to answer, then I think this conversation is one that needs to be had.

Taking the time to check in on your own mental health is an important part of creating your personalized routine. Not only will it help you notice the warning signs of oncoming mental strife, but it will also make it easier to identify your triggers and the symptoms that follow.

What do bad mental health days look like:

- An inability to cope with stress or daily problems.
- An inability to carry out usual tasks.
- Feeling sad or down (depressed).
- Trouble focusing or sleeping.
- Loss of interest in normal activities.
- Excessive worrying, fears, or feelings of guilt, anxiousness.
- Excessive anger, hostility, or violence.
- Significant tiredness and low energy.
- Detachment from reality (delusions), paranoia, hallucinations.
- Experience a major change in eating habits, or a lack of will to eat.
- Suicidal thinking

And those are just a few. Remember, we all have our hard days, and it is nothing to feel ashamed of. Be aware of your self-talk in these situations. Rather than putting yourself down, try to be more supportive of yourself by nurturing mentally yourself. Take time to do things that will help you express yourself such as:

- Yoga or a physical activity.
- Journaling your thoughts down in a mind dump.
- Playing music that makes you feel happy.
- Getting out of bed to start your day.
- Watching movies and eating snacks.
- Cooking your favorite meal.
- Taking a break from social media.
- Reciting affirmations throughout the day.

“Reflective thinking turns experience into insight.” ~John C. Maxwell

Reflective thinking is a mental process that requires us to review our experiences and put things into perspective for a better understanding. It allows us the opportunity to reflect and appreciate things that went unnoticed before. Whether the experience has a positive or negative effect on us, we should seek to dissect it in a comfortable setting to gain insight. Our ability to make decisions can improve if we dedicate time to reflect on the role we played in these experiences. When devoting time to engage in self-reflection, it is important to set aside distractions or anything that may interrupt our thought process.

While this may be a mental exercise, acts such as talking into a voice recorder, journaling, dancing, taking photographs, painting, or creating can help to sort out the thoughts we think. My favorite form of self-reflection besides journaling is talking on a voice recorder. The act of creating a voice memo on our phone allows us the opportunity to speak without a filter. No one is ignoring our point of view by speaking over us. There isn’t anyone there to gaslight us. No unsolicited advice. Just us alone with our thoughts. The best part about this is being able to listen to it afterwards. It is only then we can empathize and validate our own thoughts and feelings. Things that we did not know we believed, creeps out once we are comfortable talking to ourselves. The questions we ask ourselves are equally as important as our forms of expressing our thoughts. Taking into consideration the following will help us to fully understand how to change our behavior for future instances:

- Our feelings, thoughts, beliefs, values, opinions, and biases

- What we believe happened and why

- What happened and why

- Gaps in knowledge of the situation

- Our triggers & our reactions

- Level of satisfaction with the outcome.

Good Evening,

I am back once again with a hygiene-oriented post labeled Body Care Part Two! As you can see, I have already covered a few aspects of Physical Wellness on this platform. Below you will find a few steps to guarantee cleanliness when it comes to hand hygiene.

How to Properly Wash Your Hands:

1. Use clean running water to wet your hands and apply soap.
2. Bring soap to a lather by rubbing your hands together. You should wash your hands for at least 20-30 seconds in warm water to thoroughly remove germs.
3. Remember to soap the back of your hands, get between your fingers, around your wrists, and under your nails.
4. Use a towel or allow hands to air dry.
5. Apply a hand moisturizer to prevent dry or cracked skin.

As someone who is new to the business world, I underestimated the amount of work it would require running a small business. I strive to put my time and energy into each product and that is also something I look for when purchasing from other small businesses. There is little to no cost in supporting a small business. But the joy the business owner feels from the support is priceless.

Purchasing
The process of checking out was extremely easy. An invoice was sent to my email, and I clicked a link which brought me to a secure check out page. I was given the option to pay in full or pay in installments.

Packaging & Shipping
The packaging allowed no room for the product to move around. The soaps came fully intact, no broken pieces. The corners of the soaps were crisp and looked freshly made. I recycled the packaging which was easy to clean up. The orders arrived in less than three days. Which surprised me because I live in Florida, and they are based out of Mississippi. In both instances where I ordered, the soaps were packaged and shipped the same day which I could monitor through the shop app.

Sampling the Bar of Soaps
I ordered four different samples which can be seen on the second slide. A card comes in the package explaining how to best use the soaps. Such as keeping it in a dry place so it will last longer. I cut the bars in half and used a washcloth to make them last longer. Each bar had its unique scent, and I finished a complete bar before moving to the next soap to get the full experience. I lathered my skin with the same soap three times in one shower and it did not leave any cakey residue on my skin.

Wholesale Order
When selecting each soap, I was interested in only a certain amount per scent. Miranda catered to every request and even introduced me to a new scent I had not sampled. It’s now my favorite out of all of them. The package was not that large or heavy but safely held about 30 bars.

Customer Service
Miranda did an outstanding job with my order. She was very patient and every time I messaged her, she replied in less than one hour no matter the time of day.
Disclaimer: This post is a review of my experience with Soap de Jolie. This is not a paid advertisement.

For those who purchased a seasonal self-care basket and enjoyed the soap bars. This small business is where I purchased from. Everything from purchasing, packaging, shipping, and customer service exceeded my expectations. Support, like, comment, and share!

Happy New Year From My Family To Yours!!!

We have finally stepped into the year of 2022, and I must say, I'm glad we made it. The years 2020 and 2021 were eventful to say the least. People lost their jobs, homes, and a lot of people lost their lives. Change on a scale so large has created shifts in many of our perspectives. From reflecting on our current stances in life to rearranging our lives to shape a brighter future. We have all been blessed with the opportunity to walk into the new year with goals in our mind, kindness in our hearts, and peace in our souls.

Self-Reflection is the ability to witness and evaluate our own cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes. While doing activities such as meditating, intentionally breathing, journaling, reading, talking to self... aloud, heading to work, or eating, keep these questions close to you and Probe Your Mind.

How can you show gratitude for your experiences this past year?
What are your New Year Resolutions?
Are there any practices you wish to continue using, if so, have they served you well?
What about some undesirable traits that you have, can you recognize them?
Do you have a plan in place to tackle those undesirable traits?
What new habits would you like to indulge in this year that will be beneficial to your well-being?

The health of your skin is important because it is essential to the role of maintaining the immune system while supporting each body part. Below are a few tips on how to improve and maintain the health of your skin:

- Identifying your skin type will help you purchase products that your skin will benefit from.

- Drinking plenty of water increases elasticity in the skin and helps to maintain moisture.

- Exfoliating your skin removes build up caused by sweat, excess oil, and dead skin cells.

- Using a small amount of cleanser paired with a clean cloth or loofah will go a long way in maintaining the moisture of your skin.

- Taking long hot showers is not beneficial to the health of your skin because it strips the body of its natural oils. Cutting down shower and bath times while lowering the temperature of the water to warm can prevent your skin from drying.

- Rather than wiping yourself dry after your hydro-therapy sessions, you can opt for patting yourself dry.

- Moisturizing immediately after showering and bathing allows you the opportunity to lock the water in with a body moisturizer.
Like if this post was helpful and feel free to share with someone that can benefit from these tips! Thank you.

Oral Hygiene Basics

Our mouths actively work to aid us in a variety of daily tasks, and it is time to show ourselves some appreciation. Whether it's an unconscious act such as breathing or a conscious act like eating and processing food. Showing gratitude for something as simple as our ability to speak, eat, and breathe is a great way to start and end the day.

Taking proper care of your teeth can be a routine that benefits you and your overall health. Here are some tips to keep in mind for a better experience.

Flossing
- At least once a day with dentist approved floss.
- Use a new piece of floss for each session and dispose afterwards.
- Floss before brushing your teeth to loosen food particles from around your teeth.
- If you do not keep up with flossing every day, you'll experience a buildup of bacteria which will inflame the gums. This leads to the gums bleeding when you do decide to floss.

Brushing
- Brush at least twice per day.
- Replace toothbrush every 6 to 8 weeks, or any time you are sick.
- Brush with fluoride toothpaste to help strengthen your enamel or Brush with a fluoride free toothpaste that suits your health best.
- Avoid brushes with hard-bristled brush or brushing too heavily, it could easily ruin the enamel of your teeth and damage your gums.
- Avoid brushing teeth immediately after eating, your teeth are at their weakest state due to elevated levels of acid. Saliva naturally washes away food particles and balances pH levels in the mouth. Wait at least 30 minutes after eating.
- Rinse mouth with water and chew sugarless gum after eating to increase the amount of saliva and help the process along.

Mouthwash
- Keep bacteria build up to a minimum by rinsing with an antibacterial mouthwash once or twice a day.
- Best time to use it is after you have thoroughly flossed and brushed your teeth.
- Use the proper amount of mouthwash for the proper amount of time.
- Dilute it with water if the mouthwash allows you to. Check the label.
- Check the expiration date of the mouthwash!!!
