Muay Thai Beyond Limits

We are an inclusive martial arts program for people of all abilities, ages 3 through adult. Classes currently offered in Lakewood, CO and Denver, CO.

We offer a free 1:1 initial meeting for anyone interested in trying out our program!

Owner and Head Instructor Janelle: “Back in 2013, I moved to Surin, Thailand to teach English for one year. I made incredible friends, joined a band, and discovered Muay Thai. I ended up moving to Khon Kaen, starting training, had my first two competitions, and stayed for three years. I’ve been on my Muay Thai journey for almost 11 years now and it has completely changed my life. I’ve competed, continued training, taught classes, and started an inclusive Muay Thai program, designed to make martial arts training accessible for people with intellectual, developmental, disabilities. Muay Thai Beyond Limits has been in operation since March of 2023. We’ve had an opportunity to have an impact on so many amazing individuals. I’m beyond grateful. What a journey it’s been!”

Muay Thai Beyond Limits is offering a holiday special - individuals who enroll in our program now through December 31st will receive 20% off their first month of tuition PLUS a $25 gift card to a local business that supports people of all abilities.

We are a neuro-affirming inclusive martial arts program, dedicated to ensuring martial arts training is accessible for individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. We make adaptations to ensure accessibility, including:

* small-group classes with a 2:1 student to instructor ratio and private classes for those who would benefit from 1:1 sessions

* The use of a picture board/whiteboard schedule to ease anxiety around transitions

* Flexibility with attire

* Heavy work activities incorporated into classes to support emotional regulation and body awareness

* Minimal distractions in the studio

* Sensory breaks during classes to support regulation and improved social skills

* and more!

We currently are a part of Developmental Pathways scholarship program and can apply for unmet needs funding with RMHS, JeffCo, and A&I Avenues.

Thank you to Jackie for writing such a kind letter of support! R has been training with us for a while. Every class is structured differently to help meet R’s needs on that particular day. R has PDA (persistent drive for autonomy) and our goal has always been to develop a relationship with him based on trust and respect. Every class with R is fun and unique. We can’t imagine our program without him!

This morning we attended a My Spark event to celebrate this wonderful Denver program, supported by the DPS foundation! We are proud to be a My Spark provider. At Muay Thai Beyond Limits, we are dedicated to ensuring martial arts training is accessible for people of all abilities. We make many adaptations to ensure accessiblity, including

*Small class sizes (2:1 student to instructor ratio)
*Dimmable lighting
*Flexibility with attire
*The use of a visual schedule (picture board or whiteboard)
*The incorporation of heavy work activities to help with emotional regulation
*Minimal distractions

These adaptations help us to make sure all of our students can be successful in our program. We focus on individualized training to help each student achieve their goals while training with us and share progress reports every three months to keep parents and guardians in the loop. We are so happy to be able to offer this program for the Denver community and beyond! I first met Z and his parents back in May and he soon after joined our Saturday adult classes. He brings so much joy and light to our program. I’m so grateful that Z and his parents are a part of our inclusive martial arts family!

Join us for this free, 90-minute, hands-on, how-to Zoom webinar training for AAC users and allies on the basics of advocating for policy change. We will walk you through how to tell your story, make your views known, and how to influence any kind of policy at the local, state, and federal levels. A special panel including Bob Williams, Jordyn Zimmerman, Angelica Vega, Samuel Habib, Toby Latham, and Dean Strauss will provide insider tips based on their own experiences as successful policy advocates.

A wonderful community event is coming up! We are proud to be a vendor at CANOE’s Splash and Play event on Saturday, June 14th. The event will take place at the Lakewood Police Department, located at 445 S Allison Pkwy, Lakewood, CO 80226 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. We are so excited to be attending the Deafopia event as a vendor on Saturday, June 7th. Deafopia will be hosted at Rocky Mountain Deaf School from 10:00am to 5:00pm. We will be attending as a vendor, sharing our inclusive martial arts program and our new classes designed to ensure accessibility for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing. We can’t wait to meet wonderful families and fellow organizations!
