This weather is awful! I salute all barn and farm workers out in these freezing temps to care for livestock 🫡
I will be so grateful when we can get our automatic waterers working again in the barn; cleaning and filling 22 buckets daily and topping off throughout the evening is so much extra work. Our outside waterers have heating element to them plus heat tape of the water line and low watt light bulbs to keep them running and all are checked daily .
We are carrying at least 2 weeks of grain in case we are unable to get a delivery and have more hay arriving Friday. Monitoring closely water intake of the horses and manure output as best we can.
Everything takes longer and simple chores are more challenging.
I am SO incredably grateful for my staff not only for showing up but also wjth a cheerful attitude ❤️
So Remember to thank your barn staff and ask how they are holding up This is most certainly a labor or love.

A big thank you to these two rockstars
Addie and Kassandra for coming in and saving the day. I think we got around 18 - 22 inches over the weekend. Driveway, carpark plowed and pathways cleaned curtesy of Clean Cut from Willow Street. Horses all got turned out today and stalls all stripped and freshly rebedded. 🤗🤗🤗

Temporary part-time farm help is required for various tasks, including Toolcat operation to move big bales into the field, indoor arena maintenance, leaf cleanup, pasture cleaning, and horse fence repair. The position involves 5 hours of work, twice a week. Candidates from the Willow St area are preferred. Please message me to express interest.
