On Friday I signed two Executive Orders. The first declared a Public Welfare Emergency allowing up to $10 million in state emergency funds to be used to ensure Wyoming families continue to have access to food during the ongoing federal shutdown. The second ensures SNAP recipients benefit from the purchase of nutritional foods and not those that offer little to no nutritional value, such as sugary beverages and candy. Food insecurity does not care about political parties. Wyoming will not allow its citizens to go hungry because Washington cannot do its job.
