📌 📌OPTIMAL PROTOCOL

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all “optimal protocol” for thyroid treatment, because it really depends on whether someone has a thyroid gland, how well they convert T4 to T3, other health issues, and how they respond to medication.

For many, starting with a good quality T4 replacement (like levothyroxine, or Tirosint) works well if their body can convert it properly.

For others, especially with ongoing fatigue, brain fog, or a genetic variation like DIO2 or DIO3, a combination of T4 and T3, or sometimes NDT (natural desiccated thyroid), may feel more balanced.

Alongside medication, optimising nutrients (iron, selenium, zinc, vitamin D, B12, magnesium), managing stress, supporting gut and liver health, and pacing lifestyle changes can make a big difference.

The “optimal protocol” is really the one that gives you both optimal labs and good quality of life — and it usually takes some trial, fine-tuning, and a doctor who listens to symptoms, not just numbers.

🦋What nutrients does your thryoid need to function optimally?

⚠️If you are deficient in any of those then it can lead to a thyroid disorder.

👉Iodine – Essential building block of T4 and T3. Without iodine, the thyroid literally cannot produce hormone (but excess can worsen autoimmunity).

👉Zinc - is needed for TSH production and for the conversion of FT4 to FT3. It’s also needed to create proper amounts of stomach acid, which enables the body to utilize the nutrients in your food.

👉Iron - The body needs iron to make TPO (thyroid peroxidase), which is then used to make the thyroid hormone FT4. When the body is deficient in iron, FT4 levels can drop, putting the body in a hypothyroid state. You also need iron to convert FT4 to the active FT3, so low levels of iron can cause a decrease in FT3. This can lead to weight gain, low energy, etc.

👉Selenium - is important for the conversion of FT4 to FT3 in the liver. It also helps to support the thyroid in making thyroid hormones.

👉Magnesium - is an essential mineral for thyroid function and for the conversion of T4 to T3. Studies have shown that low magnesium is associated with a higher risk of increased TgAB, and increases the prevalence of Hashimoto’s.

👉Vitamin D – Modulates the immune system and is especially important in autoimmune thyroid conditions like Hashimoto’s.

👉Vitamin B12 – Supports energy production and nerve function; deficiency commonly overlaps with hypothyroid symptoms.

👉Tyrosine – Amino acid backbone of thyroid hormone (T4 and T3 are made from tyrosine + iodine).

👉Copper (in balance with zinc) – Assists in iron metabolism and indirectly supports thyroid hormone production.

Optimal thyroid function isn’t just about hormone levels — it depends on having the right nutrient environment for production, conversion, protection, and cellular activation.

A variety of foods throughout the week is a great way to get in all of the various different nutrients if that is not possible then you should op for supplementation.

12/18/2025

You were never broken.
You were never cursed.
You were never under attack by your own body.

That is not what autoimmunity is.

Autoimmunity is not self destruction.
It is intelligent self defense in a toxic world.

What we call autoimmunity is a misunderstanding of biology.
We see immune activity at the surface and label it a mistake, without understanding why it exists.

Your body is not malfunctioning.
It is responding.

It is responding to overload, toxins, mold, parasites, viruses, metals, and food particles leaking into the bloodstream.
It is trying to survive in conditions it was never designed for.

Your immune system is not attacking you.
It is trying to protect vital organs from ongoing threat.

But when the gut becomes permeable, when infections hide in tissues, when detox and drainage pathways are blocked, that response becomes chronic.

The immune system stays activated, not because it is confused, but because the danger signal never stops.

It begins tagging anything that resembles a threat, even if it looks like you.

And the science already supports this.

Autoimmune conditions are often triggered by infections, microbial burden, and toxic exposure, far more than genetics alone.

Viruses and bacteria do not just mimic proteins.
They infect cells, disrupt function, and embed in tissues.

Your immune system targets infected or dysfunctional cells to prevent wider damage.

This is seen in Type 1 diabetes, where infections can lodge in the pancreas and the immune system clears infected beta cells to protect the whole body.

That is not betrayal.
That is intelligence.

You do not need suppression.
You need support.

You need detox and drainage.
You need nervous system regulation.
You need to remove what is driving the response and rebuild what is missing.

Autoimmunity is the body saying,
“I still care. I am still fighting.”

Honor that signal.
Help the body finish the job.

12/07/2025

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups cabbage, thinly chopped/shredded
2 cups lettuce, thinly chopped
2/3 cup broccoli, thinly chopped
1 1/2 cups grated carrots (or a large carrot)
1 1/2 tbsp grated ginger
1 tbsp tamari sauce / or coconut aminos (or as needed)
1 tsp flax oil (optional)
1 tsp apple cider vinegar (or as needed)
1 garlic clove, minced
1 scallion, thinly chopped
1/2 avocado, thinly chopped
Ground Beef:

8oz/220g lean ground beef
1 tbsp tamari sauce (coconut aminos)
1 tsp turmeric
1 1/2 tbsp ginger, grated
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp crushed red pepper, optional
1 tsp olive oil
1-2 tbsp water

Instructions:
Saute the ground beef with a little bit of olive oil, adding the water and breaking it into pieces with a spatula. After 2-3 minutes, add in the garlic, turmeric, crushed red pepper, (optional), tamari or coconut aminos and the fresh grated ginger. Reduce heat and stir for 3-4 minutes, then let cool before adding to the salad.
Chop all the vegetables as small or big as you like them (I find smaller pieces to be more enjoyable because they’re easier to season).
Then all the ingredients to a bowl and mix together. Sprinkle flaxseed on top.
Enjoy !!

11/11/2025

Bone broth is more than just a comfort food it’s nature’s own gut healer. Packed with collagen, gelatin, and essential amino acids, it works from the inside out to repair and strengthen your gut lining. For centuries, traditional medicine has praised bone broth for its restorative powers, and now science is confirming why.

When you simmer bones for hours, minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus mix with collagen and amino acids such as glycine and glutamine. These compounds help rebuild the mucosal barrier of your intestines, preventing unwanted particles and toxins from leaking into the bloodstream. This process reduces inflammation, supports nutrient absorption, and promotes overall digestive health.

Regular consumption of bone broth can also calm symptoms of bloating, food sensitivity, and irregular digestion. The collagen it provides transforms into gelatin, which coats and soothes the digestive tract, allowing damaged tissue to heal more effectively. It’s like giving your gut a warm, protective hug that restores balance from within.

Beyond the gut, the benefits ripple through your body. Collagen supports glowing skin, healthy joints, and strong hair, while amino acids assist in detoxification and immune defense. A single cup daily can make a noticeable difference in energy, mood, and overall vitality.

Bone broth reminds us that healing doesn’t always require complex solutions. Sometimes, it’s found in the simplest traditions — a slow-simmered broth, rich in nutrients, restoring what modern diets often neglect.

Sip slow, heal deep, and let nature’s oldest remedy bring your body back into harmony.
