REEL FATHERS bids a fond farewell with tons of gratitude to Board member, Lisa “Motherfunker” Clark, who is retiring from the board after providing three excellent years of service. In 2010 Lisa first connected with REEL FATHERS when she and Executive Director Deborah Boldt were members of the same cohort in the Leadership Santa Fe program. REEL FATHERS’ mission struck a chord in her. She states, “I loved that REEL FATHERS uses film (entertainment) to draw people in, and serves as a catalyst for conversation between Dads and their kids. I was especially excited about how the process helps build confidence in Fathers where it didn't exist before. Personally, I’m concerned with how we’ve marginalized the role of the Father, and how child support laws have dismantled the good will and partnership between divorced parents in raising children. REEL FATHERS’ work is relevant, timely, and continues to play a leading role in new ways to invest in our children as a solution for many social issues we face today.”

We can look forward to hearing Lisa every Friday on Hutton Broadcasting’s Friday Funk, 98.1 KBAC Radio Free Santa Fe, especially on March 6th from 6-8 pm when she will have the student poet/performers from REEL FATHERS’ Capital High School Fathers in Focus Poetry Intensive and their poet/mentors on the show.
