After a miscarriage, many women are left feeling anxious, uncertain, and unsure of what comes next. Grief does not follow a timeline, and neither does healing. It is normal to want reassurance that your body and your future are still moving forward.

Medically, ovulation can return as early as two to four weeks after a miscarriage, and many people will have their first period within four to six weeks. For most patients, it is safe to try again once bleeding has stopped, hormone levels have returned to baseline, and you feel physically and emotionally ready. In some situations, your doctor may recommend waiting longer based on your individual health history.

There is no single “right” timeline after loss. What matters most is thoughtful care, clear guidance, and support that honors both your body and your experience.

If you have questions about when and how to move forward, you deserve answers that are personalized and grounded in science.

Behind every positive test, there are days of waiting.
Nights of quiet worry.
Silent battles no one else sees.
And moments when hope feels too heavy to carry.

When that second line finally appears after months/years of negatives, it represents so much more than a result. It reflects resilience, patience, courage, and the strength to keep going, even when the path feels uncertain.

I’m constantly humbled by the stories my patients share with me. Their honesty. Their vulnerability. Their perseverance. These moments belong to them, and they deserve to be celebrated.

To everyone who has reached this milestone after a long journey, I send you a big hug! Your strength and patience are immeasurable.

P.S. Congrats to Bad Bunny on your Grammys. 🎶✨

Y’all, the First Monday of February is here!

A new month. New energy. New opportunities to reset how we show up for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

And this year, it begins alongside Black History Month.

For me, that is never just a cultural observance. It is deeply personal. It represents generations of perseverance, brilliance, and sacrifice that made it possible for me to practice medicine, lead in this field, and serve patients at the highest level in spaces that were never originally built with us (ME) in mind.

Their stories are not only about struggle. They are about excellence. About innovation. About courage. About believing in possibility long before it was visible.

I carry that legacy into my work every day.

In reproductive endocrinology and infertility care, I see that same quiet strength in my patients. The determination to keep asking questions. To seek clarity. To remain hopeful in seasons of uncertainty. To trust science, timing, and themselves, even when the path is not straightforward.

As a Black woman in medicine, I feel both gratitude and responsibility. Gratitude for those who opened doors. Responsibility to practice with integrity, compassion, and rigor. And commitment to making sure representation is not rare, but expected.

Black History Month is not only about honoring the past. It is about shaping the future. About creating systems of care that are equitable, thoughtful, and worthy of trust.

As we step into February, my hope is that we move with intention. That we lead with empathy. And that we continue building spaces where every story is respected and every journey is taken seriously.

Happy February. Let’s begin it well.

Sometimes, “the win” isn’t the outcome.

We’re taught to measure progress by the final moment: the positive test, the clear answer, the resolution. But real movement often happens long before that.

Sometimes, “the win” is finally scheduling the test you’ve been avoiding. Asking the question you were scared to ask. Letting go of self-blame that never brought clarity … only weight.

Sometimes, “the win” is choosing real information over guessing and over misinformation. Support over silent stress. One thoughtful step instead of staying stuck.

Those “wins” may look small to others but they aren’t. They’re what move you forward; even while the outcome is still unfolding.

Happy Saturday!

🚹 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬! 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐈𝐭! 💡

Did you know that in 50% of all infertility cases, the male partner (the s***m-producing partner) plays a role? Yet, conversations around fertility often focus only on women—and that needs to change!

One major difference between egg health and s***m health is that while women are born with all their eggs, men continuously produce s***m in 70-day cycles. This means that with the right lifestyle changes, we can significantly improve s***m quality—boosting fertility outcomes and even reducing miscarriage risks!

🔬 What does this mean?
If we make positive changes today, we can see healthier s***m in just a few months, increasing the chances of conception and supporting a healthier pregnancy!

✅ Reducing oxidative stress
✅ Improving s***m DNA integrity
✅ Enhancing overall s***m health
✅ Positively influencing IVF & fertility treatments

For those trying to conceive or planning for the future, male fertility matters just as much—so let’s start the conversation!

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲? I love dressing up but I hate to go shopping!

So, I relied on my mom’s eye for style and she would shop for me … head to toe including jewelry! Best deal ever!

Now that she’s passed, my brother has taken it upon himself to style me.

I think he’s doing a great job … The difference now is he makes me come along for the shopping!

Were you born with Te**es?

Are YOU hoping to add biological children to your family?

If you answered yes, your s***m health matters more than you think!

Many assume that a “normal” s***m count means they’re in the clear, but in reality, male sub-fertility is common—and factors like testosterone therapy, anabolic steroids, DHEA, and even some over-the-counter supplements can shut down s***m production. If fatherhood is in your future, it’s time to rethink these choices and explore fertility-friendly alternatives.

Check out this important video from Nevada Fertility Institute to learn what really impacts s***m health and how to optimize your chances of conception!

21 years. That’s how many years of education that it took after high school graduation to completing my training and launching Nevada Fertility Institute in November 2016. It has been a journey of dedication, resilience, and purpose—one I pursued with passion since I was 8 years old.

Did I envision this exact path? No. But every day, I am grateful for the opportunity to do what I love, to serve, and to innovate. I carry the lessons, the dreams, and the unwavering belief my mom had in me, and I hope she continues to be proud.

To every patient, colleague, and supporter—thank you for your trust. The work continues. 💛

Did you know that at Nevada Fertility Institute, we break the IVF process into two phases, making the goal of freezing your eggs or having a babymore accessible no matter where you’re located.

🔹 Phase 1: Ovarian Stimulation & Egg Retrieval:
This phase involves using tablets and injections to stimulate the ovaries to produce mature eggs. These eggs are then:
✔️ Frozen for future use (egg freezing)
✔️ Fertilized with s***m to create embryos, which are usually grown to the blastocyst stage and then frozen for later transfer

📍 Where does this happen? Most of Phase 1 can be done at our office or completed wherever you live—with monitoring that we arrange done by a local provider. Then, you simply fly into Las Vegas for the egg retrieval and can return home afterward.

From starting medications to freezing embryos, Phase 1 typically takes a total of up to 15-20 days.

Yet, not all patients complete their journey in just one Phase 1 cycle. Some may need multiple rounds to obtain enough eggs, especially those with:
🔸 Diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) – Fewer eggs than expected for their age
🔸 Advanced reproductive age – More eggs are needed to achieve one live-born baby
🔸 Planned genetic testing of embryos – More embryos are required to ensure a viable & healthy transfer.

Since IVF is not one-size-fits-all, every journey is tailored. We won’t know whether a patient will need one or multiple Phase 1 cycles until we assess their ovarian reserve, response to medication, and the number and quality of eggs retrieved. S***m quality also plays a key role in embryo development, influencing the number of viable embryos created.

🔹 Phase 2: Embryo Transfer
The next step is preparing the body for embryo transfer—and just like Phase 1, most of the preparation can be done from wherever you live. You’d only need to travel to Las Vegas for the actual embryo transfer. I’ll explain this in a future post!

✨ Wherever you are, we can help make your IVF journey possible. If you’re considering IVF, it’s important to have a plan that fits your needs and lifestyle.
