Even the most iconic things in the world still get criticized.

So if you’re doing your best, showing up, and still hearing opinions… take it with a grain of salt. Not everything needs to be taken personally.

And by the way, happy Monday! 😁

UK health authorities are urging Gay and Bis*xual men to get tested after a significant rise in drug-resistant Shigella cases.

New data published by the UK Health Security Agency on 26 March shows 2,560 diagnoses of s*xually transmitted Shigella in England in 2025 — up from 2,052 in 2023 and 2,318 in 2024. The infection predominantly affects Gay, Bis*xual and other men who have s*x with men.

Shigella is a gut infection caused by bacteria found in faeces, spread during s*x directly or through unwashed hands — with only a tiny amount of bacteria needed to cause infection. Symptoms usually appear within one to four days and include diarrhoea, stomach cramps and fever. It is often mistaken for food poisoning.

The growing antibiotic resistance picture is what makes this data particularly concerning. In 2025, 86% of Shigella sonnei samples and 94% of Shigella flexneri samples tested showed resistance to antibiotics. More than half of Shigella sonnei cases were extensively drug-resistant — meaning treatment options are becoming increasingly limited.

Dr Katy Sinka, Head of STI at UKHSA, said: "The rise in s*xually transmitted Shigella cases is concerning, but the risks of catching it can be reduced by good hygiene during and after s*x and condom use — helping to protect yourself and your partners."

Those diagnosed with Shigella should avoid s*x until seven days after their last symptom, avoid pools, hot tubs and shared towels, and get a full s*xual health screen — including for HIV. Free testing is available at local s*xual health clinics or via self-sampling kits by post.

Happy 💛🤍

It feels fitting that it lands on a Monday.

Mondays tend to set the pace. You walk in, look at the schedule, and the day already feels full before it even begins. Everything moves quickly. One room to the next, one patient to the next, one task after another.

And on days like this, healthcare can easily start to feel very system-driven.

But there’s a difference between simply providing a service and actually caring for someone. And patients can feel that immediately, even if nothing is said out loud.

I’ve noticed it’s rarely about the big things. It’s in how you walk into the room, whether you slow down for a second, how you explain what you’re doing, or even just the tone you use.

Those small moments don’t take much time, but they change how someone experiences being there. Because for us, this might be just the start of another work week. For the person on that table, it’s not.

They’re coming in with their own thoughts, worries, expectations… sometimes things they don’t even say.

And that’s the part that’s easy to lose sight of when everything becomes too focused on efficiency.

Getting through the day matters, of course. But how someone feels while going through it matters too.

I try to remind myself of that, especially on Mondays. Cheers to all the doctors out there showing up, every single day!💛

Painful periods aren’t just uncomfortable… they’re costly!

Period-related pain and heavy bleeding are one of the leading reasons young menstruators miss school or work. On a larger scale, this translates to billions lost each year in productivity, overall wellbeing and quality of life.

We need to talk about this more openly. Normalizing conversations around periods helps break stigma, encourages early care, and reminds people they don’t have to suffer in silence. Effective treatments exist and support is available.

Let’s make this a conversation, not a secret.

Fertility care is often viewed from the outside as a single step, but when you take a closer look, it’s clear how much is happening beneath the surface.

There’s a level of coordination, precision, and responsibility in this field that isn’t always visible unless you’re directly in it.

And sometimes, understanding that complexity shifts how we see the entire process.

What surprised you most as you went through this?

If this gave you a new perspective, save it for later or share it with someone who may need it.

This is the energy I am carrying into the week… grounded in purpose, anchored in gratitude, and intentional about how I move through every space I enter. ✨

We are living in a moment where so much is unfolding across the world and within our own communities. It asks something of us… not to turn away, but to remain steady, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in who we are.

And within that, we still have a choice in how we show up.

My hope for you this week is that you protect your focus and remain connected to the vision you are building, even as the world shifts around you. Hold space for what matters. Move with care. Lead with clarity. Continue shaping a life that reflects your values, your purpose, and your heart.

Presence matters. Energy matters. The way you show up matters more than you think.

And when it is grounded in intention, it has the power to quietly transform every room you enter. 💫

🚹 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬! 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐈𝐭! 💡

Did you know that in 50% of all infertility cases, the male partner (the s***m-producing partner) plays a role? Yet, conversations around fertility often focus only on women—and that needs to change!

One major difference between egg health and s***m health is that while women are born with all their eggs, men continuously produce s***m in 70-day cycles. This means that with the right lifestyle changes, we can significantly improve s***m quality—boosting fertility outcomes and even reducing miscarriage risks!

🔬 What does this mean?
If we make positive changes today, we can see healthier s***m in just a few months, increasing the chances of conception and supporting a healthier pregnancy!

✅ Reducing oxidative stress
✅ Improving s***m DNA integrity
✅ Enhancing overall s***m health
✅ Positively influencing IVF & fertility treatments

For those trying to conceive or planning for the future, male fertility matters just as much—so let’s start the conversation!

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲? I love dressing up but I hate to go shopping!

So, I relied on my mom’s eye for style and she would shop for me … head to toe including jewelry! Best deal ever!

Now that she’s passed, my brother has taken it upon himself to style me.

I think he’s doing a great job … The difference now is he makes me come along for the shopping!
