The public health space in general and health equity work specifically is being awarded resources at record levels. Dollars that can establish capacity and be leveraged to ensure sustainability.
The following contractual positions have been made possible by CDC funding with an overall focus on COVID-19 responsiveness as well as efforts that impact broader system change and address health disparities.
We are pleased to announce that NOMHE (https://dhhs.nv.gov/Programs/CHA/MH/) is, proactively and with intention, sourcing for candidates reflecting the diversity of our state, including those from BIPOC backgrounds, SOGI demographics and varying degrees of physical ability.
FIVE (5) AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Program Officer II/Health Coordinator position
* Coordinate other Program Officers; oversee the development of a statewide health equity plan (that includes emergency preparedness considerations) and provide support to local agencies and contracted organizations to ensure a process with public input
Program Officer I/Coordinator position
* Manage the activities and programming related to/with the Nevada Minority Healthy and Equity Coalition/NMHEC (a partnership of academic, civic, private and community organizations that aims to address health disparities and inequities in Nevada); work with NMHEC on informing policy, CBPR research, collaboration, training and building capacity throughout the state.
Two (2) Program Officer/Coordinator/Trainer positions one in Northern Nevada (Reno/Carson area); one in Southern Nevada (Las Vegas area)
* Focus reviews of and research on external statewide as well as Dept of Health and Human Services division-level policies to ensure consistency across Nevada; develop materials suitable to serve as training documents that aid in building an infrastructure to address health disparities across the state; efforts to include language equity considerations
Management Analyst II
* Support and perform assessments related to health disparities, including those exacerbated by COVID-19; Analyze data, policy and procedures related to impacts of partnerships as well as other grant funded activities; analyze and provide data in support of grant funded deliverables including those related to development of state equity plan; Reporting of grant funded activities
