We are very excited that Jacq will be speaking during Black Maternal Health Week next month as a member of the Anemia Community Leadership Group CAB!

Jacq has had the privilege of working on this project since 2022, supporting the BLACK Wellness and Prosperity Center in Fresno, CA in this meaningful work to create protocols that support increased testing and resource navigation for birthing persons diagnosed with anemia in pregnancy.

For those who may not know, “Stanford’s PRIHSM, PRomoting Improvement in Hemorrhage-Related Anemia is an NIH-funded Maternal Health Research Center of Excellence that aims to reduce postpartum hemorrhage in California and beyond.” And the project Jacq is currently serving as a community advisory board member on is Project 1: Antenatal Iron Deficiency Anemia led by Deirdre Lyell, MD and Community Co-Leads Shantay Davies Balch, MBA and Kata Nemeth of the BLACK Wellness and Prosperity Center in Fresno, CA.

We are very excited that Jacq will be speaking during Black Maternal Health Week next month as a member of the Anemia Community Leadership Group CAB!

TrueSelf LLC is an indigenous-led organization that focuses on whole-body health and wellness. We started out making products from our home in Fresno, CA in 2018 then moved to Las Vegas, NV where we licensed our company in 2021. From there we expanded our services into Mohave Valley, AZ in 2023 and are excited to announce our expansion into Phoenix, AZ!

We are ONE week away from the first Youth Compensation Summit led by the Youth Economic Empowerment Collective! Here at TrueSelf LLC, Jacq has been heavily involved with the Youth Economic Empowerment Collective for several years and is excited to be speaking!

There is so much to explore during this virtual event from labor and contract law, to taxes and public benefits, Youth Action Boards, and Intellectual Property rights.

If you are a youth or young adult independent contractor, youth homelessness advocate, nonprofit organization, or even an interested community member, this summit is for you!

On Thursday we traveled to California to attend Reedley College’s Third Annual LGBTQ+ & Allies Friendsgiving 😄
It was a beautiful time where over 90 people attended! Jacq was asked to say the Ancestral Medicine Remembrance Prayer and play music.
Being able to share space with so many of our community members, especially on Transgender Day of Remembrance was a great reminder of uplifting each other and honoring the legacies of those who passed too soon.

Thank you all to those who put on an evening of good food, wonderful conversation, and learning of indigenous plants ☺️
We look forward to more opportunities to work alongside each other!
