As part of HCA Healthcare, we're proud to announce a $4.8 million gift to Pepperdine University to help launch the School of Nursing with the Pepperdine University College of Health Science. This is part of HCA Healthcare's greater commitment to helping address the national nursing shortage.

“We believe that investing in nursing education is vital to the future of healthcare,” said Sammie Mosier, DHA, MA, BSN, NE-BC, senior vice president and chief nurse executive for HCA Healthcare. “It is a privilege to support Pepperdine University’s new School of Nursing as they prepare the next generation of caregivers with the tools, confidence and compassion to care for patients and communities.”

Pepperdine’s School of Nursing opened this fall and currently enrolls 68 students. The school provides undergraduate and graduate nursing degree programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and an Entry Level Master of Science, Clinical Nurse Leader (ELM-CNL). As part of their curriculum, nursing students will have the opportunity to complete clinical rotations at our hospital, Los Robles Regional Medical Center, in Thousand Oaks, California.

Alexis Mussi has always been a champion for culture, teamwork and operational excellence. We're proud to welcome her back to MountainView Hospital as CEO and look forward to the impact she'll continue to make across the HCA Healthcare Far West Division.

Welcome Alexis Mussi, new chief executive officer at MountainView Hospital!

This new position is a homecoming of sorts for Alexis, who led Surgical Services at MountainView Hospital before joining Southern Hills in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, ultimately becoming CEO in 2019. Alexis began her healthcare career at Sunrise Children’s Hospital in 2008 as Director of Physician and Provider Relations, later advancing through leadership roles that fueled her passion for operations and strategy.

Alexis transformed Southern Hills during her tenure, growing the hospital from 134 to 331 beds and leading milestone projects such as the state’s first freestanding emergency room, ER at the Lakes, and the Division’s first psychiatric facility, the Pavilion.

Beyond these achievements, Alexis is known as a culture champion, bringing teams together to advance our mission -- the care and improvement of human life.

We officially cut the ribbon on our brand-new HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement (HHCCA) in Las Vegas! Our grand opening brought together leaders, clinicians, dignitaries and community members to celebrate the future of healthcare training.

The HHCCA is a state-of-the-art hub designed to prepare clinicians through lifelike simulation with hospital-grade technology. This will equip them to deliver safer, higher-quality care across Nevada and California.

This opening was more than an event; it was a commitment to innovation, workforce development and the future of patient care 💙

We're proud to celebrate two of our incredible physicians from the Sunrise Health System!

Dr. Kornelis Poelstra was named a 2025 Healthcare Headliner and received the Physician Award for his groundbreaking work in minimally invasive spine surgeries at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Michael Ciccolo received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to congenital heart surgery at Sunrise Children's Hospital.
