Our G2’s had the opportunity to visit a local prosthetics and orthotics clinic to see innovation in action. From custom fabrication to patient-specific design, they got an inside look at how interdisciplinary collaboration helps restore mobility and independence. Grateful for experiences that bring classroom concepts to life!

Proposed federal changes could impact PT education, student loan structures, and the long-term strength of our workforce. ACAPT is calling on PT students across the country to submit public comments so decision-makers hear directly from the people these policies affect you
Public comments:
• Become part of the official federal record
• Must be reviewed by the agency
• Can influence final regulatory language
This is one of the most direct ways we can advocate for our profession.
The deadline to submit is March 2 through Regulations.gov:

Advocacy starts now.

🧗‍♂️ Shoulder Hypermobility in Climbers — Advantage or Injury Risk?

In Episode 1 of Season 4, The Climbing Doctor interviews Stephen Kiraly, DPT student at UNLV, about shoulder hypermobility and what it means for climbers.

Here’s the truth:
Hypermobility isn’t “good” or “bad.” It’s a trait.

✔️ It can help you reach holds others can’t.
⚠️ But without strength and control, it can increase instability and injury risk.

Key takeaways:
• Strengthen your rotator cuff
• Improve thoracic spine mobility
• Distribute force through your entire body
• Use taping as short-term support
• Technique matters as much as strength

The goal? Turn mobility into performance — not pain.

CSM 2026 was one for the books!
Our students, faculty, and alumni represented our program in Anaheim this weekend — presenting their research, attending sessions, and connecting with the physical therapy community at the largest conference of the year.
We’re proud to see our students building professional connections, our faculty sharing their expertise, and our alumni continuing to lead in the field!
