SCRMC is proud to take part in National Wear Red Day to support awareness of women’s heart health. Heart disease is the leading threat to women’s health, and early action and education can save lives.

We encourage our community to learn the signs of heart disease, talk with their health care providers and support the women who inspire us every day.

With temperatures plummeting, it is important to exercise caution when heating your home. According to the National Fire Protection Association, “Home fires occur more in the winter than in any other season, and heating equipment is involved in one of every six reported home fires, and one in every five home fire deaths.” Starting a fire is not, however, the only risk involved in incorrectly heating your home. There are also risks of experiencing carbon monoxide poisoning.*

As the potential for winter weather in our area approaches, South Central Regional Medical Center would like for the public to be informed of the best ways to heat your home safely.
