Recently, the Scotland County Public Safety & Emergency Services Association applied for a grant with the Scotland Memorial Foundation. We were fortunate to be approved, and as a result, we will be receiving a new LUCAS Device in the coming weeks. We would LOVE to have one for each duty truck, but you've got to start somewhere, and the devices are not cheap! The LUCAS is a device that provides mechanical chest compressions, which is used as an alternative to a human compressor. We know that high-quality CPR is the essential component influencing survival in cardiac arrest, and the AHA's five components of high-quality CPR are: minimizing interruptions, maintaining adequate rate, maintaining adequate depth, allowing adequate chest recoil, and ventilating appropriately. Take a look at this short, simulated video to get an idea of how advancing medical devices can assist us in giving the best care possible. Thank you, Scotland Memorial Foundation!

The LUCAS 3 Chest Compression System is a device that delivers automatic chest compression with minimal risk of interruptions during patient transport. This ...

🌟 **Scotland County EMS AED Registration Program** 🌟

**Join Us in Enhancing Community Safety!**

Scotland County EMS is on a mission to improve the safety of our community, and we need YOUR help! If you own an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), we invite you to register it with us. Your participation can make a crucial difference in emergency situations and potentially save lives. ❀️ We need all businesses and facilities to register their AEDs.

**Why Register Your AED?**
In the event of a cardiac emergency, rapid access to an AED can significantly improve survival rates. By registering your device, you ensure that emergency responders have immediate access to vital information about AED locations, enabling them to respond quickly and effectively.

**How It Works:**
1. **911 Call Center Integration:** When someone calls 911 during a cardiac arrest, emergency telecommunicators will have your registered AED information at their fingertips.
2. **Direct Access:** Emergency responders can be directed to the nearest AED, increasing the chances of timely intervention.
3. **Easy Registration:** Simply complete our online AED registration form with key details, such as the AED's location and accessibility.

**Get Involved:**
You can help save a life in your community! To register your AED, visit our website: [AED Registration Program](https://www.scotlandcounty.org/872/AED-registration-program).

✨ Plus, we offer a **FREE annual inspection** of your AED with your registration! ✨

Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for your support! πŸ™πŸ’™
