Leadville Rod & Gun Club

Leadville Rod & Gun Club Shooting and Fishing events in and around Leadville, Colorado.

10/11/2025

Hello again

We have elections coming up and it looks like Jonathan Wilson is going to transition to a President-in-training if you will. Chris Cary has informed the club that he would like someone to transition into the President spot to take over when he retires soon.
This will leave a secretary position open if anyone would like to take that. The November meeting is where we will pick new officers. If you want something to change, show up to the meeting.
Public trap shooting is done for the season, it will hopefully start back up in Spring. We still need some people who are interested in trap shooting to help out as we are losing our members that have been handling that.
Please take care of the ranges when you are there, the people that spend their free time cleaning up are volunteers. Everyone should be able to pick up their own trash.

Don't shoot the target boards with shotgun shells.
Treat all guns as loaded and keep all guns facing down range.
Thanks for your time.

We have a minute man shoot tomorrow, Bring your rifle and the gear you'd put on if you were going to head out into an unknown situation.
Trap shooting is going to shut the doors for the winter soon.
We have just a handful of shoots left for the rest of the year.
Don't forget, we will have new expectations for members next year.

Thanks for your time.

Good afternoon.

We have a clean up day at the new range tomorrow at 10AM.
We are going to do an NRA Dinner sometime next year in Chaffee County. Some of our members will be going to a meeting early October to talk with their members on a collaboration for the Dinner and other potential events.
We have not had any interest in the director for the Fish Derby or volunteers for next year's trap shoots. We are running out of time for the Derby. These events that we sponsor put money back into the club for upgrading the range. The less money that comes in, the less we can do.
We are working on a new membership agreement/waiver that will set some new expectations for members next year. This agreement will address issues that we hope will allow us to not only continue, but grow the club to benefit the members and families. If you want input on our direction, coming to our meetings is the best way to do that.

Thanks for your time

Hello everyone!

-We have a new range workday this Saturday and a club meeting next Thursday.
-We have quite a few older members leaving their posts this year. We could really use some more people to help run the club activities. It's going to be very difficult to keep everything going without a few more people to help out.
-We don't have a director yet for the fishing derby in February and without one there's a good possibility we won't be able to conduct the derby.

Thanks for your time.
