Rural Health Day Spotlight – Frederick Barton, MSN, ENP-C, FNP-C, NREMT-P

Meet Frederick Barton, ENP-C—sole provider at a critical access hospital in Montana, where he wears multiple hats every day. In addition to providing emergency care, he serves as the hospitalist, giving him the opportunity to admit and follow patients throughout their care journey.

“It is extremely rewarding to admit patients without consulting anyone else and watch them improve. You can’t always do that in a typical ED.”

This Rural Health Day, we’re proud to recognize the ENPs bringing care, compassion, and continuity to rural communities across the country.

When BP is high—but the patient seems stable—what’s the right move?
