I didn't write this, but it's as if I had...

I counted my years and found that I have less time to live from here on than I have lived up to now.

I feel like that child who won a packet of sweets: he ate the first with pleasure, but when he realized that there were few left, he began to enjoy them intensely.

I no longer have time for endless meetings where statutes, rules, procedures and internal regulations are discussed, knowing that nothing will be achieved.

I no longer have time to support the absurd people who, despite their chronological age, haven't grown up.

My time is too short: I want the essence,
my soul is in a hurry.
I don't have many sweets
in the package anymore.

I want to live next to human people,
very human, who know how to laugh at their mistakes, and who are not inflated by their triumphs, and who take on their responsibilities.

Thus human dignity is defended and we move towards truth and honesty.
It is the essential that makes life worth living.

I want to surround myself with people who know how to touch hearts, people who have been taught by the hard blows of life to grow with gentle touches of the soul.

Yes, I'm in a hurry, I'm in a hurry to live with the intensity that only maturity can give. I don't intend to waste any of the leftover sweets.
I am sure they will be delicious, much more than what I have eaten so far.

My goal is to reach the end satisfied
and at peace with my loved ones
and my conscience.

We have two lives.
And the second begins when you realize you only have one.

Happy Sunday!

So I've been struggling with writing this post since Friday night. The fundraiser was an AMAZING event. So many people turned up and showed ALL the love to me and my family. Which is where my dilemma arises.

How do I thank you ALL!? HOW do I express the huge amount of gratitude that I have to each and every one of you that showed up, organized, gifted, placed bids, donated, just came as support, hugged, sang, smiled and made the evening such an amazing memory for me? I can't list every person's name. I wish I could but I'm thinking that you all know who you are 😊 You all know that what you've done absolutely is making a difference in my life. Literally.

So, Thank You. Thank You ALL.
The love shown is immeasurable to me.
Thank You for being such a huge part of my new journey. The love you've all shown warms my heart so much.
Very few people possess the considerate and unselfish, giving hearts that you all have shown...and even less people are willing to give of themselves like you all have, so I thank you...I thank you ALL for the kindness and thoughtfulness from the bottom of my heart ❤️

I've got a crazy road ahead from what everyone has told me. My life has already changed drastically. I have a few issues I've never had before and have to adjust...like remembering to use the scooters at Walmart now 😳🤣. I can't go 20 feet without losing my breath! TF!?

I'll be updating always on this journey I'm about to embark upon, good and bad. I might even start a "Journey" blog or Reel.

To those that don't know, I'm in Stage 3 Lung Cancer as well as I'm in need of 2 stints in my heart after having a heart attack a bit over a month ago.

This benefit is being organized by some of the most amazing friends in order to help me get through radiation, chemo and the heart surgery...the next few months basically.

If you can find it in your hearts to attend or even donate, it's very appreciated...

Soooo, who's hiring?

I'm eeking employment that will provide me with a realistic, livable salary.

I have experience in MANY fields ranging from Corporate Office Management/Project Management in Advertising & Production to Bartending/Serving/Personal Chef, warehouse work, product assembly/production line, housecleaning, catering and so much in between. I cook, and I'm great with tedious work. My list of experiences are long. Also, I'm 58 and in good health!

I can easily engage in an honest and friendly manner. I'm great on the telephone. Those who know me, know I love to engage in good conversation. I'm extremely organized. My Customer Service skills are pretty on point and I'm honestly happy 99.9% of the time 😊, I'm human.

I can fly solo or work with a team.

At my age, I've raised my children so have no time constraints within reason. I will add that I'm looking for days but can easily shift that to accommodate a good position. I would LOVE an office setting/professional position. Trying hard to get away from the food industry.

I'm looking at a starting point of at least $15-$18 per hour. I promise that I'm easily worth more, but that is livable. Negotiating, that is also of course possible. Depends on the job!

Word of mouth tends to serve this type of request better then todays job search options. Hence, this post.

I'm on "Indeed" and other job search engines but they're all pretty much rubbish in my opinion. Most are not even in the area and sometimes even out of state.

I'm old fashioned like that. I prefer to actually speak to a human, face to face, shake a hand and speak of my accomplishments as well as aspirations and what I can add to any employer/business. I have SO much more to me then just simple, basic words on a page.

Since closing my business, all I've done is "take what's available" so that I can just barely live. I'll add that I live a pretty simple, humble life and in all honesty, it's a damn struggle. Yes, I Doordash so that I can have the basics like eating daily 😕 but it's not enough to squeeze through.

So. That being said, friends...I'm looking for work. I would LOVE a spot that will last for years, not weeks or months. Years.

I'm a hard, loyal worker if I believe in what I'm doing...add a good salary and yeah, I'm yours. I learn QUICKLY as well and have absolute common sense. A RARE thing I am told daily.

I don't drink. I don't do drugs. I can easily pass a background check. I'm bondable. I have a clean license. I can travel to and from/I have a vehicle. I'm also of the mind of working WITH you...not just for you. I believe that respect and belief makes me want to work better and harder for any employee. Let's add that I'm the employee that shows up early and has no issues staying late...again, that's a "within reason".

To the person who came to the shop, daughter/Julia explained that we're selling kitchen items today due to going out of business...but wanted/needed to order cookies because she read that I'll be doing orders occasionally...

WOW. We had Shadow there today. My dog.
Kept him in the kitchen area with me because he's TOO friendly and I didn't want him jumping on people (he's home now) but because of that, I couldn't go into the front to speak with her so I had to basically yell through the door...explained that I'm not taking orders for a while...she stormed out claiming "Bad Business" as the door closed 🤔🤔🤣🤣 but she says we've engaged before? OK...then you know we're NOT "Bad Business"...

Seriously? I'm sorry...we're not a "bad business" because we couldn't accommodate you today. We're OUT OF BUSINESS dear lady. Packing up and storing. Thanks for the well wishes and goodbyes. Next time...message me. Call me. Ask first. Don't assume. That helps us both.

I'm SO not in the mood today.
This is hard. This is almost melancholy for us packing up 2 years of our lives. Yeah, we're gonna start fresh but that doesn't change this feeling. Our first place.
