I'm Liz Levy- an experienced NICU nurse and IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)- here to help with all your breastfeeding needs!

I do prenatal and postnatal consultations and specialize in oral ties and dysfunction. Congratulations on choosing to breastfeed your little one! Breastfeeding is a natural process but it is also a learning experience for both mom and baby. Studies have shown that mothers are more successful with breastfeeding if they have professional support from a certified lactation consultant. I graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Human Biology and Nursing. I have been a Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) nurse since 2010 and have been working as a Lactation Consultant since 2012. I am a Registered Nurse (RN), a Certified Breastfeeding Educator (CBE) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have always been passionate about breastfeeding and believe that every family deserves the right to give their baby the best start in life. My goal is to help you reach your goals. Each family is different and I pride myself on being able to tailor my services to what works best for your life. I offer private prenatal breastfeeding classes as well as in-home breastfeeding consultations. I look forward to working with you and your family! Specialties:

-Special situations (Trisomy 21, cleft lip/palate and other medical complications)
-Exclusive pumping/bottle feeding
-Returning to work (pumping, breastmilk storage, etc)
-Low milk supply/over supply
-Breast conditions (inverted nipples, previous breast surgeries, engorgement, plugged ducts, etc)

I provide prenatal breastfeeding classes and lactation services for families in Kansas City, Leawood, Overland Park, Olathe and Shawnee. If you are outside of these areas, please contact me to see if arrangements can be made. Charges may apply for travel distances greater than 25mi from Overland Park. Bottle refusal can be one of the most stressful challenges for families! A baby who won’t take a bottle isn’t being stubborn, picky, or difficult. Most bottle feeding challenges have to do with how their mouth and tongue are working, not behavior.

Is your pump fl**ge the right size? 🤔 Probably not!

Most pumps come with 24mm or 28mm fl**ges but those are too big for most people! 😣

Using the wrong size can cause:
🚫 Pain or ni**le trauma
🚫 Lower milk output
🚫 Clogged ducts

The right fl**ge size makes pumping easier, more effective, and way more comfortable! 🙌🏼

✨ Did you know… Under the Affordable Care Act, most insurance plans are required to cover lactation support, often at no cost to you! ✨

Even if I’m not in-network, you may still qualify for out-of-network reimbursement. Here’s how:

💵 1. Pay for your visit up front

🧾 2. Get a super bill from me (a special receipt with all the billing codes)

📬 3. Submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement

💡 Many families are surprised to find they get part or even ALL of the visit cost reimbursed! Always check your plans out of network benefits, and reach out if you need help navigating it.

KC Well Nest has been open for 6 months now and I LOVE being here! It’s been such a peaceful, therapeutic environment for families and I’ve really enjoyed sitting down, having a cup of tea, and helping the families I’ve seen here. However, loading up a brand new baby and coming to an office is tough for a lot of people and I totally understand that! That’s why I still offer home visits! I’m honored that so many families trust me to help them during this important transition to parenthood and I believe in making it as easy for families as possible! That’s why whether you are most comfortable in your own bed in your PJs or would rather get a change of scenery and enjoy a cup of hot tea on a comfy couch in my office, I’m here to help you! I hear so often “well X told me baby had a good latch so I’m not sure why I’m struggling.” These pictures are such a great illustration of the fact that latch actually happens INSIDE the mouth. The lips can be positioned fine on the outside, but if the tongue is not maintaining extension, elevation, and cupping while having enough strength to maintain suction, there are going to be issues. These issues could include pain, poor milk transfer, compressed ni***es, ni**le damage, excess air swallowing, poor coordination, trouble handling flow, tiring out quickly… the list goes on. If you suspect your baby is struggling, despite being told your latch “looks fine,” please don’t hesitate to get another opinion from a tie-trained provider.
