The babies had a special visit from Libby at Tractor Supply in Fairview! 🐐💚 We love when clients talk about us to local vendors—and because of that, our babies were spoiled with bags of their favorite pine treats!

Pine is wonderful for goats: it provides natural nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamin C, contains tannins that can act as a natural dewormer, offers great enrichment, and may even improve feed efficiency.

The babies were more than happy to show their gratitude to Libby… in the only way they know how—by enthusiastically devouring every last bite! 😄🌲

This is what love looks like. ❤️
A pair of red mittens.

Several years ago, when my daughter was in college in NYC, a dear friend of mine, Stacy Button and I went to visit her to experience Christmas in New York. The trip happened to fall on my birthday. While wandering Bryant Park, I found the perfect pair of red wool mittens at a sweet little Christmas stall.

Fast forward a few years… I wore those same mittens in the barn and completely ruined them. (Lesson learned: you cannot wash wool mittens.) They were destroyed, and I was genuinely heartbroken.

This year, another dear friend, Stacey Smocer Pennington visited that very same stall in Bryant Park and surprised me with a brand-new pair of the exact same mittens.

That’s love. 🧣❤️

30 Days of Happiness!!! Day #1

I was nominated by Urban Creek Homestead ✨️

How it works:
-Post 3️⃣0️⃣ pictures over the next 3️⃣0️⃣ days (1️⃣ a day) of something that brings you happiness! Maybe it'll brighten someone else's day, too!
Your picture can have an explanation or not. That is up to you!
-Tag 1️⃣ page a day (or more!) with your post so they can pick up the torch and get their own 3️⃣0️⃣ days started! Let's take over FB with happiness!

Four Hooves Homestead

Check their page out, and if you have a chance, share my page as well, I always like making friends! 💜🩷🩵

Local friends — farm life is currently organized chaos 😅. Between digging through Middle TN rock for electric and water (pretty sure alien gophers moved in 👀) and juggling weather + schedules, we’re deep in project mode.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone’s patience and support ❤️ and we’re brainstorming fun ways to keep the work moving. Once it’s safe again, we have some really exciting farm events planned!

New idea: I’m considering taking sweet Emmylou on 30- or 60-minute visits to local businesses or homes on select dates (possibly around Valentine’s Day 💕). We’re also expecting babies in the next 10 days — so there may be baby appearances too!

And here we go…kidding season is upon us. This first set of Moms were breed with our beautiful Nigerian Dwarf, Bob Dylan.

We have 3 girls up T minus 10 days

Faith (ND) FF vet says twins ;
Shania (ND) FF vet says triplets. Shania & her babies have already been retained and will be headed off as a starter herd for their very own therapy farm ❤️

Adele (half silky/half Nigerian dwarf) Second time mom. Her last years babies were the start of a therapy farm in South Carolina. Most likely we will be retaining at least one of her babies.

Pretty exciting around here.

Saw hand surgeon on Thursday. Pretty much, I got REALLY lucky. It might not be pretty but everything appears to be intact. Stitches come out in two weeks!

Anyone else have barn cats that are super friendly? Meet Poppa Kitty. He’s incredibly social and friendly. And I’m terribly allergic but he is SO hard to resist.
