Thanks to my wife for reminding me to meal prep 😘

When you have a long, busy day ahead and you don't have healthy meals ready to go, odds are you'll make poor decisions.

No plan: I spend $25 on eating out tomorrow, where I eat high fat, high carb, malnutritious meals.

Plan: I save $15-20 by having home-cooked meals, and I am fueled all day long.

It doesn't have to be hard. It doesn't have to be expensive.

7oz Salmon with Honey, 1/2 cup Rice, 1/4 cup Broccoli, 1/4 cup Blueberries, and a handful of Almonds/Peanuts.

Supplements: Beet Root, Multivitamin, Trace Minerals, Nattokinase, Serrapeptase, Dihydroberberine, Tudca

Total Calories: 730
Protein: 53g
Carbs: 39g
Fat: 35g

I preach nutrient variety. It's not just about macros. Eating a variety of whole foods allows for a greater variety of micronutrients, phytochemicals, antioxidants, and polyphenols.

My preworkout of choice recently has been Nitro Surge with 1/4 tsp of salt.

Not a super comprehensive label, but this is what I like. Simplicity and mild effectiveness. Many of us get caught up with the idea of MORE MORE MORE. I stopped chasing more. Plus it's 7pm so I don't want anything too crazy.

Caffeine + Theobromine for me is awesome. It's my gateway. I just feel good without being over-stimulated. I get a solid push for about an hour and it's done. 👌

And just because I like this doesn't mean everyone else needs to. There are thousands of preworkouts! But the key is in the 'why.' WHY am I taking this? What will it do for me? Is this what I need? That's how you Supplement Smarter.

Fun Fact: Most nitric oxide "pump" ingredients can take up to 2 hours to end up as nitric oxide downstream. Taking your preworkout 20min before your workout isn't reaping the maximum benefits of it. I love Stim-Free with a preworkout meal several hours before a workout. Solid ingredient profile and dosing. Then I'll take my preworkout of choice 20min before my workout to get the caffeine and beta alanine hit.

I don't consume a lot of carbs when I'm not physically active. The wife and I will workout in about 6 hours so my next meal will be more carb dominant.

Nutrient density. Variety. Satiation.

In the supplement industry you can lie, glamorize, and over-market all you want, as long as you're positive and you smile.

But, damn. This is phenomenal. You get mostly mango 🥭 at first, followed by the slightest spice in the back of the mouth. Not the kind of spice that ruins it. It's like an accent that works perfectly.

It's amazing the people I talk to that get sick all the time. It's the same conversation.

Me: "Minerals?"
Them: "No."

Focusing on ❤️ health on Valentine's Day

Omega-3s: can reduce triglycerides, lower blood pressure, and slow plaque buildup in arteries.

Cod Liver Oil: rich in EPA, DHA, and Vitamins A & D, which can reduce arterial inflammation, and reduce the risk of arterial thrombosis.

Beets: high in nitrates, which are a precursor to nitric oxide, can lower blood pressure, improve circulation, and manage cholesterol levels.

Nattokinase: enzyme from natto that can break down fibrin and blood clots, lower blood pressure, and improve circulation.

Serrapeptase: a proteolytic enzyme that can break down arterial plaque, lower vascular inflammation, and reduce blood clots.
