We are pleased to announce that Nicole Elston has joined the Clarity Psychological Team as a Clinical Intern and she is accepting new clients beginning in January 2026.

Nicole Elston is supervised by our outstanding clinician, Nicole Lefman, MA, LPC, NBCC. Nicole Elson is able to work with clients who have an insurance plan for which Clarity Psychological is in-network. If you do not have an in-network plan, we have significantly reduced rates for sessions with a Clinical Intern. Not only will Nicole's clients have the opportunity to gain personal insight and growth from her thorough and careful work, but they will also have the benefit of Nicole Lefman's input and oversight. Working with a Clinical Intern is an effective option for many clients.

New Virginia Legislation: Social Media Time Limits For Minors

Amendments to the Consumer Data Protection Act under SB 854 will introduce default daily usage limits for minors. The legislation will require social media platforms to use commercially reasonable methods, such as a neutral age screen mechanism, to determine whether minors younger than 16 years of age. Once identified, companies must limit the minor's use of a platform to one hour per day, per service or application, and allow parents to give consent to increase or decrease the daily time limit.

Grief doesn't just disappear; it builds until we find ways to release it.

Holidays in particular can awaken feelings of loss, regret, nostalgia for people who are no longer with us, and sadness over missing earlier times.

Consider reflecting on the following questions:
What absence are you most aware of as this week ends?
The way things used to be?
Someone's laughter?
The energy you once had?

You can acknowledge your thoughts and feelings this weekend by resting in the ache instead of distracting from it, knowing that grief is just love with nowhere to go.

Then, you have time to be more present in the week ahead and focused on creating new experiences and memories that will become a part of your on-going story.
