💧 Early Detection Saves Kidneys — and Futures!

The Albumin-Creatinine Ratio (ACR) test is one of the most powerful ways to detect kidney damage early, even before symptoms appear.

A simple urine test can detect subtle signs of kidney stress long before creatinine or eGFR levels change.

👨‍⚕️ Dr. Gulati, Nephrologist at the Kidney Institute of Florida, reminds patients:

October brings spooky fun — and lots of candy! However, for our kidney and dialysis patients, it’s essential to make informed choices when it comes to sweets.

Check Out These “No Trick” Tips for a Kidney-Friendly Halloween!

🎃 Choose small portions to manage phosphorus and potassium.
🍫 Go for chocolate without nuts or caramel — they’re lower in phosphorus.
🍭 Hard candies like peppermints or fruit drops are simple, sweet options.
🚫 Avoid candies with nuts, molasses, or chocolate-covered raisins, which can be high in phosphorus and potassium.
