In those early days, newborns can fall asleep halfway through a feeding — long before they’ve had their fill.

That’s where breast compressions can make a big difference.

Gently squeezing the breast while your baby nurses helps move milk forward and keeps the flow steady, giving your baby an extra reason to stay engaged at the breast.

It’s a simple way to:

✔ Keep sleepy babies feeding longer
✔ Support milk transfer and supply
✔ Help babies who get frustrated when flow slows

When your baby pauses or starts to drift off, give a gentle squeeze until they start sucking again. It’s not a fix-all, but it’s often the tiny adjustment that makes a huge difference in those early weeks.

✨ For more support (and hands-on guidance), you can always schedule a visit with our team at www.kentuckybreastfeedingcenter.com.

Breastfeeding isn’t a personality test.

You don’t get graded on how long you nurse, how much you pump, or how many ounces you stash in the freezer.

Some days it’s skin-to-skin magic.

Other days, it’s pumping in the car while eating a granola bar for lunch.
And both count.

Feeding your baby is a relationship — not a competition. You’re doing it right if everyone’s fed, loved, and learning together along the way.

✨ If you need support, we’re here when you’re ready: www.kentuckybreastfeedingcenter.com

Some goodbyes are harder, because you know you may not get to see each other the next time around 😢 wishing Shae & Indy the best as they start their new chapter. I'll miss you & we're so proud of how far you've both come!

You don’t have to wait for something to go wrong to ask for help.

In fact, many of the smoothest feeding journeys we see start with parents who come in early — even before baby arrives.

Early support helps you:

✔ Learn what to expect in those first few days
✔ Build confidence in latch and positioning
✔ Prevent common struggles with supply or pain
✔ Know what’s normal (and what’s not)

When you understand how feeding works before you’re exhausted, everything feels more manageable — and you can focus on what matters most: connecting with your baby.

Your instincts brought you here. We’ll take care of the rest.

The holidays can be joyful… and a little overwhelming - especially when you’re trying to keep feeding on track between travel, visitors, and all the noise.

But here’s the good news: your rhythm doesn’t have to disappear when life gets busy. With a few small shifts (and some gentle boundaries), you and your baby can stay connected - and calm - through it all.

Not every feeding struggle needs a full clinical evaluation.

Sometimes, you just need a little guidance — someone to listen, watch, and help make sense of what’s happening.

That’s where our Infant Feeding Counselor (IFC) appointments come in.
Our IFCs are trained in early feeding support and work closely with our IBCLCs to help with:

✔ Latch and positioning
✔ Pumping questions
✔ Bottle introduction or refusal
✔ Feeding plans and reassurance

It’s the perfect first step when you’re not sure what kind of help you need — or you simply want to make feeding feel a little easier.

Your instincts got you this far.
We’ll help you take the next step.

✨ Learn more or book an IFC visit at www.kentuckybreastfeedingcenter.com.

Today, we pause to honor those who have served — and the families who serve right alongside them.

At KBC, this day is especially meaningful. Two of our own, Ashlee’s husband Joe and Jessica’s husband Cody, have proudly served our country. Their strength, dedication, and quiet resilience remind us daily that service doesn’t stop at the uniform — it continues in the love, care, and support families give behind the scenes.

To all the veterans, active-duty members, and families in our community — thank you.

Your courage builds stronger families, stronger communities, and a future filled with hope.

🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day from all of us at Kentucky Breastfeeding Center.

You’re feeding your baby, and you hear that little click.
Then another. And another.

It’s one of those sounds that can make you wonder — is something wrong?

Clicking during feeding often means your baby is losing suction at the breast or bottle. That can happen for a few different reasons:

👉 A shallow latch or seal
👉 Tongue or jaw tension
👉 A fast flow (especially with bottles or oversupply)
👉 Fatigue or poor coordination during feeds

One or two clicks here and there aren’t always cause for concern — but if you notice them often, along with leaking milk, short feeds, or frustration at the breast, it’s worth looking closer.

You’re not doing anything wrong — your baby’s body just might need a little extra support to coordinate everything.

✨ We can help you understand why it’s happening and what to do next.
