FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Madison County Fire Department Awarded $330,000 Federal Grant to Enhance EMS Capabilities
Madison County, TN — The Madison County Fire Department (MCFD) is proud to announce the receipt of approximately $330,000 in federal funding from the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. This significant grant will directly support the advanced medical training of several firefighter/AEMTs by covering paramedic school tuition, textbooks, and associated backfill costs to ensure continued service while personnel attend school.
This funding marks a critical investment in both the department and the broader Madison County community. By equipping our firefighter/AEMTs with advanced paramedic-level training, MCFD will be better prepared to address complex medical emergencies and more effectively support MedCenter EMS, our county’s emergency medical transport provider.
“This is a huge win not just for our department, but for every resident of Madison County,” said Eric Turner, Fire Chief of MCFD. “These funds allow us to grow our internal capabilities, reduce response times, and improve patient outcomes by ensuring our firefighters are among the best-trained in the region.”
Over the past two years, MCFD has secured more than $550,000 in AFG funding, along with an additional $70,000 in state-level support from the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office. These grants have been instrumental in strengthening our department’s operational readiness, training, and service delivery.
MCFD remains committed to pursuing all opportunities that enhance public safety and the well-being of Madison County residents. This latest grant is another step forward in our mission to provide exceptional emergency services across the county.

🏈💓 GAME DAY REMINDER:
Just like every great team needs a playbook, every fan needs to know the lifesaving plays: CPR & AED use.

A cardiac emergency can happen anywhere—even in the stands. When seconds count, YOU could be the difference between life and loss.

✅ Learn CPR.
✅ Know where the AEDs are in the stadium.
✅ Be ready to step up like the MVP we know you are.

Because heroes aren’t just on the field. 🦸‍♂️💪

“Preparedness isn’t optional—it’s the standard.”

That was the driving theme of the 2025 Heroes Conference in White Hall, AR, where the Guardian Group Safety & Consulting Team spent the weekend alongside true HEROES from across the nation.

From church sanctuaries to crowded public spaces, our instructors received firsthand insight from the very responders who’ve faced the unthinkable. These one-on-one exchanges weren’t just stories—they were strategies. Real-world lessons. Tactical wisdom forged in crisis.

Our mission: to ensure every client we serve is equipped to respond—not someday, but *now*. Because when seconds matter, readiness isn’t a luxury. It’s a responsibility.
