What an HRT Evaluation Looks Like
Hormone therapy is not based on a single lab value or a quick checklist. A proper evaluation is thoughtful, individualized, and comprehensive.
An HRT evaluation includes:
A detailed symptom review
Energy patterns, sleep changes, mood variability, brain fog, weight shifts, hot flashes, menstrual irregularities, libido changes, or muscle changes are all considered. Treatment decisions are guided by symptoms in combination with laboratory findings.
Personalized laboratory interpretation
Labs are reviewed in clinical context. Being “within range” does not always reflect optimal balance for a specific individual. Patterns, trends, and how results align with symptoms are carefully assessed.
Complete medical history and risk assessment
Cardiovascular health, thyroid function, metabolic markers, family history, medications, and lifestyle factors are evaluated. Hormones do not function in isolation.
Discussion of risks, benefits, and realistic expectations
Options are reviewed thoroughly before initiating therapy. The goal is informed decision-making and safe, appropriate care.
A structured follow-up plan
Hormone optimization is a process. Ongoing monitoring and thoughtful adjustments are essential for both safety and effectiveness.
For those experiencing persistent changes in energy, mood, sleep, or overall well-being, a comprehensive evaluation may be worth exploring.
