I specialize in custom family and children's portraits and weddings. I have over 20 years experience as a professional photographer.

Welcome to Photography by Marc Meyers. This is not so much a business venture but a way for me continue to follow my passion for and my love of photography. I will be offering portrait sessions and wedding photography. I began my love of photography as a year book photographer for my junior high school. I was fortunate to be accepted to and attend Houston's acclaimed High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. I studied Media Technology with a focus on photography and film. The wonderful staff and teachers at HSPVA instilled a love of the arts that has followed me my whole life. After graduating PVA, I study photography and worked at the University of Texas Heath Science Center and Baylor College of Medicine. I mentored under some of the best medical photographers and film makers in the world. I truly learned what light does to silver halide. I quickly discovered my true talent was photographing people and began shooting portraits and weddings. After relocating to Austin TX in 1985, I joined the staff of Accent Studio. A year later I bought the studio and began a 12 year career in Austin where I shot thousands of portraits and weddings and became one of the premier outdoor portrait photographers in Texas. I switched careers in 1997 and have missed photography every day since I quit. The finance and insurance industry has been good for the bank account to but horrible to the soul. For the past 17 years I have been shooting for myself and a few close friends. I have recently made the decision to return to shooting professionally and while it is not my main source of income, it is my first love. I believe in capturing the essence of a person in a portrait and not just a reflection of light. A portrait should evoke emotion and feeling and say something about the person being photographed. Wedding photography should capture the emotion of the day and elicit feelings every time the images are looked at. And the images should be technically perfect. So again, welcome to the new page and hope you enjoy my personal images as well as those we will add from sessions in the near future. The wildflowers have truly outdone themselves this year. This weekend is the perfect weekend for wildflower portraits. We have unique, private locations which make the perfect background to capture a classic family, children's, or individual portrait. We offer very reasonable rates and portrait packages. Professional portraits created by a true professional photographer are cherished for generations. Limited appointments are still available this week and weekend but the wildflowers won't last long. A quick reminder that this time of year is the perfect time to create family portraits. This time of year the light takes on a magical quality and with the recent rains, our outdoor shooting areas are stunning, The San Gabriel is close and other Hill country locations are only minuets away from our Liberty Hill location. A professional portrait is the perfect gift for loved ones and captures you and your family forever. A professional portrait is work of art to be enjoyed for years. A portrait should do more than simply record an image. A portrait should be a reflection of the subject's energy. Faith, Hope, and Love. The greatest of these is Love. Every now then we get to witness it. As a professional photographer, no greater trust can be placed in us than to capture a wedding. Brandy and Kyle, thank you for trusting me with the photography for your wedding. The love of your families, your parents, and your friends leave no doubt as to the love you have for each other. Here is a small sample of the hundreds of photos taken last night at the beautiful Star Hill Ranch. It was simply perfect.

A brief preview of today's engagement portrait session with Brandy and Kyle. A great couple and really fun to work with. I also realize how blessed I am to have the North San Gabriel river and beautiful gardens as a studio these days, Looking forward to photographing the wedding at Star Hill Ranch this fall.

My Favorite new restaurant on Lake Travis, Shack 512, asked me to take a few shots for their menu. The food is amazing, the chef is a genius, the staff is great, and the owners, Ashley and Ross Gooslby have created a wonderful new venue. By land or by lake, check out Shack 512. (I forgot how much fun it is to shoot food. You get to sample everything)

I took a drive out to one of my favorite bluebonnet places to preview this year's bloom and was pleased to note that it should be beautiful. Our spring time in the hill country is one the best times of the year for childrens and family portraits. We have beautiful locations available for bluebonnet portraits and wonderful locations for natural photography sessions just northwest of Austin. This year, let us create a family or child's portrait that will be charished for years. We are offering a limited number of portrait sessions in March and April. So many photographers today rely on technology and volume to capture a few good images but photography is so much more. it is an art medium which takes years to master and a tremendous education in the field to truly achieve the ability to capture not just light, but art, emotion, passion, and the true essence of a subject.
