The Hruska Clinic offers physical therapy services that are based on the philosophic and integrative concepts of the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI). The staff is committed to addressing functional limitations through the assessment of neuromuscular patterns and treatment using PRI application, and interdisciplinary integration when necessary. Postural Restoration is the utilization of manual and non-manual techniques to restore position of a common pattern present in all humans. Consultation with a Hruska Clinic therapist will address the coordinated association between the body’s relative postural position and the potential muscular imbalances that have lead to the postural position. When properly positioned, aligned and balanced, the joints and muscles of your body can work in a more effective and efficient manner.

When women are pregnant, our bodies go through massive changes. After giving birth, there is this idea that we “bounce back” after 6 weeks and then everything is fine. Some people might do well and have no pressure regulation issues, but others may need some physical therapy to help them out.
I had a client whom I saw after she started working out following her second child. She unfortunately injured herself while working out. We were able to get her pelvic floor working correctly, be able to regulate pressure, and improved glute and abdominal strength. She did great and then about 2 years later she was back on my schedule. She had baby #3 and automatically wanted to come in to get tested out and see what she needed to work on in order to prevent getting injured.
This was a great example of not being in pain or being injured, but coming in to help prevent any sort of injury. I tell my patients to think of us like going to the dentist. Come in 1-2x/year for a check up to make sure you are still in a good position to prevent an injury. -Ann
