Paradise Prairie Farm

Paradise Prairie Farm Paradise Prairie is a small local farm on the outskirts of Lincoln, Nebraska.

We sell aronia berry products, gourmet tea, and all natural grass fed/grass finished beef. We work to provide wholesome and healing foods for our community, and share with urban dwellers, the appreciation of simple farm life. Aronia berries are in the black chokeberry family, native to Nebraska plains but not grown for production until recently. After learning about the unusually healthy benefits of this berry, our family decided to try growing our own bushes. Just outside of Lincoln on a farm we’ve dubbed “Paradise Prairie,” we planted 400 bushes in native pasture grasses. Our berries are grown without any harsh chemicals and pesticides, and are handpicked in late summer. Our grass fed and finished beef is the "salmon of the prairie", chock full of Omega 3 fats and low in saturated fat. Grown without medications and on clean prairie grasses, good for the cows and good for you!

Adding the Astaxanthin Factor…

Astaxanthin is a fat-soluble carotenoid with a unique molecular structure.Astaxanthin is one of the most powerful lipophilic antioxidants yet discovered … .
Astaxanthin embeds itself in cellular membranes. It is unique among carotenoids because it traps free radicals at both ends of the molecule.* Once trapped, free radicals are passed into cellular fluids where they become neutralized by vitamin C.
Ten Times Stronger Than Other Antioxidants
• It is one of the most powerful biological antioxidants known and shows strong free radical scavenging activity.* .....staxanthin is 550 times more effective at scavenging free radicals than vitamin E.
• Studies comparing astaxanthin to other carotenoids have shown that it possesses antioxidant activity up to 10 times stronger than that of beta-carotene, canthaxanthin, lutein, and zeaxanthin.
Protects Against Oxidation*
• Not only is astaxanthin a powerful free radical scavenger for your muscles, but it can also protect against oxidation, which limits the number of free radicals produced by your body.*
• It is sometimes referred to as a “booster” for common antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and E.
Astaxanthin supports joint health and flexibility and
a healthy immune response* this

From Mercola.com "Perhaps the most important caveat when making broth, whether you're using chicken or beef, is to make sure the bones are from organically raised, pastured or grass-fed animals. As noted by Sally Fallon, chickens (and beef) raised in concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) tend to produce stock that doesn't gel, so you'll be missing out on some of the most nourishing ingredients if you use non-organic bones.

Let us know if you'd like to place an order for bones, or order them with your next quarter of beef!

Bone broth contains a variety of valuable nutrients of which many Americans are lacking, in a form your body can easily absorb and use.

We just moved them to a new winter pasture - grass left from last fall. They love it! They didn't even come up to eat the hay bales we left out for them this evening.

We appreciate all the inquiries we've been getting on beef quarters. But the guys aren't growing very fast. Generally grass fed beef takes 24-30 months, but we've been able to finish sooner sometimes. These fellows aren't in a big hurry, and they won't be 2 years old until early summer. We are hoping for April, if we get an early spring to help fatten them up.
