And this is why I want to live in the mountains again. I miss hiking and breathing the fresh thin air. It's so exhilarating and gorgeous you can't get this in the sweaty cornfields of Nebraska. I'm forever grateful my family is just as adventurous as I am and they are having fun right along with me 🥰

Oh, and the first pic is a throw back to when I was here as a kid and got in trouble by a park ranger for sitting on a wall of a cliff dwelling and my parents have never let me live it down 🤣 "young lady! You can't sit there!"

So much more hiking and leg torture today. We spent the morning climbing and sledding the Dunes which are not easy to walk on our up. I was quickly reminded how sore my calves were from the Incline yesterday. I still nailed my traditional traveling dancers pose, on a sled on a dune!
Then moving on into the mountains we found a beautiful frozen waterfall to hike up to. I was quickly reminded how I much rather climb trails than stairs or sand dunes 😆.
I love our family vacations bring us so much movement and that I'm healthy and fit enough to do all this day after day. It's the best way to truly see the world 🗺. Happy Spring Break!

I did a thing! And unexpected, unplanned, untrained for thing 🫨. And I survived!

When the hubby said, hey I've always wanted to climb the Incline and I'm like uhhhhh, I'm fit, but not for stairs or climbing and heights. The elevation didn't bother me at all, it's the crazy vertigo. And this one about got me. You can't look up, you can't look down and the only thing you look forward at is one stupid railroad tie after another! Dont slip or lose your balance and fall and die 😆.

4 of us started up and quickly realized we all had to go our own pace. Trek summited first, 40 min later me, 5 min after me Mike. He was kind enough to hang back with Teyla til the half way point bail out. Then it was the long hike back down and back to town, but it was way easier than the stairs. I am beyond proud and impressed by each of us today!!!

Leg day showed no mercy today 🔥. Squats, lunges, all the things that make you question your life choices… and now my glutes are filing a formal complaint 🍑😅

But telling myself that good burn means the work got done. Walking and sitting might be questionable tomorrow, but today? This badass mama showed up and got it done 💪

Just an okay run today. Not fast. Not pretty. Not breaking any PRs. But I laced up. I showed up. I moved my body. And sometimes that’s the real win. Consistency over hype. Effort over excuses.

It wasn’t amazing… but it counts 🏃🏼‍♀️

Slow reps. Big burn. Strong shoulders. Shaky arms. Zero quitting. This bada$$ mama showed up and showed OUT. Let's do this 💪🏼

Short. Slow. Successful. That's all I can ask some days 🤪 and this morning’s miles weren’t fast and they weren’t flashy — but they were exactly what I needed. Easy pace. Steady breath. Clear mind. It felt good to get back out there after over a week off from running.

Sometimes the goal isn’t to crush it… it’s just to move, to show up, and to start the week feeling strong and grounded. Besides, slow miles still count. And today, they set the tone and I'm ready for this new week!

Happy freaking Friday!! This week has taken forever to get through and I've felt more tired and drained that I just haven't wanted to run or really push myself in that way, but cycling has been a good alternative. Today I found a fun 5 ride challenge that looked doable, so I gave it a go and even earned myself a badge for the month. I'll take it! Go make the most of your day however you can 👊🏼

Just haven't been feeling the desire to run this week, but I'm still showing up in other ways. Habit will do that 😉. Today I opted for the bike and truly enjoyed a good sweaty cardio sesh of riding along the beaches of Norway and a quick 10 min power burn 🔥. I feel accomplished for another day and have

Here we go Core Cardio 😮‍💨! That deep core burn hits different when you add jumping and heart rate spikes. The kind of burn that reminds you strength is built from the inside out. It burned so good reminding me i am strong, yet left me humbled and gasping for breath 🤪. But week 7 is done and that means I have one more to go and I will have successfully completed another amazing BODi program!!

Feeling a little extra tired today so instead of running, I chose to lift (because you get breaks 😉), buuut it just happened to be leg day. And we know not only is leg day my nemesis, we know how HORRIBLE my last leg day was 🤬. So, am I glutton? Nope! I'm DAMN DISCIPLINED! I slayed this one!!
Leg day and I may not be friends… but today?
I won 👊🏼

Arm day… and I’m not sure it even counts 😯

Finished the workout and thought, “Wait… that’s it?” No burn, no shake, no dramatic grunting. But here’s the thing — not every session has to leave you wrecked to be effective. Sometimes it’s about clean reps, controlled tempo, and walking out knowing you showed up. And dont forget to high five Coach Logan for his support.

If it felt easy? Maybe that’s progress. Maybe it’s time to level up next week, guess we'll see, but at least it was still better than leg day 🤣 💪🏼

Welcome to my reality!

Hi, I am April. The owner of T~n~T Dynamite Fitness. My daughter actually came up with the name for her imaginary restaurant she was dreaming up one day and said I could have a gym attached. She’s so sweet and kind. But really the name T~n~T comes from my kids’ names; Teyla and Trek. Together they really are dynamite (insert happy, scared, and mad emojis here).

I have been into health and fitness from every angle ever since my daughter turned 2 and I realized I wasn’t going to lose the baby weight by just dreaming about it. I had to take action or she would be headed down the same road as me. It started with learning about nutrition for me. I knew nothing about portion control or healthy food swaps. Then came exercise. I grew up all over the world in places you could be active outdoors. My true passion is hiking! I could hike and hike and hike some more......if I still lived in the mountains. But that changed when I moved to the flat midwest for college. When I came to the plains of eastern Nebraska for college I was so out of my element, I didn’t know what to do or where to go to be active outdoors. so, I got fat. It didn’t help I met the love of my life a couple years later and so life happened.

Together my husband and I learned to eat so much better. He taught me some things about running and cycling and things started to click. I felt better, I looked better, and over time I have learned so much more about health from the inside out. The big key to keep in mind though; be ready for constant change. Don’t let yourself get bored or complacent. Keep striving for whatever makes you feel good and happy. Don’t give up, no matter what!

So welcome to my page. I am here to support, encourage, and teach you about health and what it feels like (not always what it looks like). Because we all have things to live for!
