I’ve been a little quiet on here… but not because I stopped doing what I love 🤍

Truth is, last year I slowed down on purpose. I chose to take care of my health, my family, and myself in a deeper way—and it was needed. It was good. And it changed me in all the best ways.

But behind the scenes? I’ve still been showing up. Still documenting stories. Still stepping into some of the most sacred, powerful moments a family can experience.

And I feel that spark, still ✨

This photo is from a powerful peaceful home birth where the mama became a very dear friend and now uses her experiences to serve others .heritage.doula is amazing! And it was attended by the most incredible midwife This is one of those moments that stays with you forever. The kind that reminds me exactly why I am so grateful to do this.

I have another birth coming up with one of our community mamas in the next few weeks and I can already feel the anticipation building… there is nothing like it.

So consider this me stepping back in, sharing more, and bringing you along again 💛

"When I asked for the epidural after almost 2 days of labor, she made sure that's what I wanted, because it wasn't previously. But I was done and through. And she supported me and did not make me feel as though I had failed myself or my baby or my goals.
She advocated for my postpartum wishes.
And she STAYED.
She stayed and I had to make her go HOME, bless her. I won't do any more future births without her at me and my husband's side, as she is a wealth of knowledge and companionship. Very attentive to dates and times as well as checking in frequently which I very badly needed. Maybe one day my dream of a home birth will finally happen. Until then, I choose to be grateful that I was not alone and gently held by a woman who saw me, my baby, and my birth experience as sacred and valuable. All my love, Bekah. - Christina C."

"After laboring 30 hours, a Cesarean was probably the safest option, but because she knew my desire for a VBAC was great, she helped me continue to advocate for myself.
My second birth ended in cesarean and while it was still beautiful,
having Bekah for the contractions during those 30 hours is something I will cherish forever.
She stayed with me and made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision making, and
when I decided to have a C-section, she didn't make me feel like I had failed or like my body had failed... but she continued to encourage me, reminding me that laboring unmedicated for 30 hours is
no easy feat and that what I did was amazing.
I could not have done it without her.
She is amazing."

It recalled support I will never regret.
And it solidified my decision to no longer support at a hospital of lies and manipulation.

🚨 Postpartum Question 🚨

If you or your husband could go back and explain to him before birth how you would need support, respect, validation, etc. during your first three months postpartum, what would you tell him, or what would your husband tell himself now that he’s on the other side of the fourth trimester?
