Levi Gatlyn Smith, was born (January 16, 2012) with Biliary Atresia which is a rare liver disorder that only affects about 1 in 20,000 babies and ultimately leads to liver transplant. After several years of being seemingly healthy, Levi began a battle with organ rejection in July of 2019. After two years of his battle, we found out in July 2021 that Levi would, unfortunately, be facing this battle indefinitely. Being diagnosed with ongoing and progressive chronic rejection, Levi will be needing another liver transplant in the future. Updates will be made as we visit for his care. Thank you for following

With the best little thumbs-up he could muster at the moment, Levi is happy to say he does not have to stay for any more treatments at the hospital.
His biopsy report showed only minor changes compared to his last one. His medications are successfully slowing down his rejection progression, which is wonderful news! They believe that he is still having intermittent “flare-ups”, but nothing dramatically affecting him at this time. They are continuing keeping close tabs on him with labs every three months to monitor for flare-ups, but he will not have to go for a follow-up visit in Cincinnati for one year.
We appreciate the continuing thoughts and prayers from you all ♥️ we are so grateful for the love and support this child has had throughout his journey. And, as always, we will keep you all updated on Mister Levi!!
